Can't install "Find my Phone" on Versa 2

I bought my Girlfriend a Versa 2 for her birthday (her first smartwatch) since she has ADD and she loses her phone constantly. I was hoping this watch could help her with that, among other things. Now I find out that the Find My Phone app, which according to reviews and videos online used to work just fine on the Versa 2, is now 'not compatible.' The install button is greyed out as well. Is it actually no longer supported or is this just a bug?

I've tried two other third party alternatives but one of them is very glitchy and I paid for the other but the phone part of the app doesn't even work properly.

Both the watch and Fitbit app are completely up to date. Can anything be done?

Hi there, @jefry876. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the inconvenience with your girlfriend's Versa 2 before reaching out here. I understand where your concern is coming from.

Please note Find My Phone app is available on Versa 2 devices. Nevertheless, since the Versa 2 is fairly new I suggest give it a couple of days more to see if you receive the new update which will allow you to install the most recent app available for our Fitbit devices.

For Versa 2 the current OS should be (35).72.1.23. To see the current version installed on the watch, go into the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab > your profile picture > your device image. The firmware version number appears under your device's name. Also, on Versa 2 find the firmware version in the Settings app > About or Device Info. For more information, see How do I update my Fitbit device?

Once you manage to update the Versa 2 and install the Find My Phone app, keep in mind the following requirements in order for the Find Phone app to work properly:

  • Your smartwatch must be connected (“paired”) to the phone you want to locate.
  • Your phone must have Bluetooth turned on and be within 30 feet (10m) of your Fitbit device.
  • The Fitbit app must be running in the background on your phone.
  • Your phone must be turned on.

To find your phone:

  • Open the Find Phone app on your smartwatch.
  • Tap Find Phone. Your phone rings loudly.
  • When you locate your phone, tap Cancel to end the ringtone.

If the issue persists, see How do I troubleshoot apps on my Fitbit device?

I've moved your post to the Other Versa Smartwatches board for organization purposes.

Hope that helps.

If you just got this, you might have to wait a few days for a firmware update to get this and some other features added since original release.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
