Can't open texts messages on Versa 2

Brand New out of box versa 2. Recieve all messages but when I hit open nothing happens, just loops back to home screen. Emails open just fine. Just can't Access any text messages. I have a moto z3. It's not in silent, Fitbit has full permissions. Help

Hi there @CarlaDCollier, welcome to the Community Forums. Thank you so for making sure all permissions are allow on between your phone and the Fitbit app. 

 

Please note that the Moto Z3 is not yet a supported device by the Fitbit app. You can see the list at: Which phones and tablets can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker?

 

Please keep in mind that when a device is not supported we cannot guarantee its functionality with the Fitbit app. It might work at a certain time and then it can stop working out of nowhere after an update. This is because the app is not optimized to that device and any change could impact the performance. 

 

However, since your Versa 2 has been working with other notifications, please follow the tips and recommendations provided in the help article: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device?

This is happening to me as well, and my Samsung Galaxy 8 is supported.

Why is this happening, and what is the fix?  I receive the notifications, but if I it OPEN, it just takes me back to main screen.

In the meantime, I'd suggest switching to a clock face that doesn't have a lot of text or graphics on the display. Also, try to clear their notifications more frequently when you receive them.

1. My texts are always cleared out the moment I receive the notification and attempt to "Open"

2. Out the box, the texts would not open, before changing my face, so this can't possibly be the issue.

 

Is there anyone in technical support that has an answer?

I am having the same issue on a Galaxy S8. It won't open any text messages. Had this been fixed?

 

I was very disappointed that my place of purchase told me they are not allowed to assist in setting it up either.

This is so annoying, as why have this option if we are unable to use it. I did not have this issue with my Charge 3.

No it's not a supported device so we must suffer the minimal effectiveness
of our Versa's or get a new phone. Neither is terribly appealing but here
we are

I assume any other issues I am having would also be related to the phone
not being compatible?

I have the Samsung S9 plus phone and Versa 2 fitbit and the same is happening with me. Notifies me that I have a text but when I touch open takes me back to home screen.

I can’t reply on my message on my Fitbit Versa 2. I have an Apple iPhone 7+. My Fitbit is also out of the box new.

Myself and my wife got Versa 2 try paring them up with our Huawei Honor 6X wich by the way is on the list of compatible devices and no luck. Called costumer support multiple times done all sorts of possible resets and reboots under their guidance. Still the devices won't sync for more than a few hours at best and after that no more syncing. Really bad experience from a first time costumer here

So I finally have mine working well. I had to go into my text message app, open settings, then allow for previews. Works great now!

I have a Samsung S9 and a Versa 2.

I could not find on my S8 "allow previews" BUT, I did play around with some permissions etc on the Fitbit app and my message app. I cannot say for sure what worked, but it did!!!  All because of your tip, so THANK YOU!!

I want to throw it away...I need to open my text meesages.Any resolve??

I followed Charity's advice, and now mine is working.  First make sure your phone is compatible, and them make sure ALL your permissions are turned on, check your phone settings as well as your settings in the Fitbit app.  I wish I could pinpoint what exactly I did to make mine work, but I can't.  I just remember going in and checking everything.  Oh, and I allowed the app to run in the background, where I previously had it turned off.

Hey!

Unfortunately I can't pinpoint what exactly made it work, as I had alot of things turned off, and had apps sleeping in the background. I started with the Fitbit app permissions, and made sure they were all turned on. And in the notifications, I selected Messages

 

I also went to my phone settings, as I had it set to not run in the background..I turned it back on. 

 

Was really frustrating but SOMETHING finally clicked and now it's working.  Hope you have some luck with  yours!
