Can't pair my Versa 3 to my new phone

I have got the new Pixel Watch 2 and added it to my Fitbit app which removed my old Versa 3. I have since tried to factory reset the Versa 3 and it returns an error "Data not cleared, sync and try again". The Versa 3 requests I add it to the app but this will remove the Pixel Watch 2 which I don't want to do.

How can I get out of this loop so that my Versa 3 is factory reset and all the data removed so I can then donate it?

Hi there, @SSKT2. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa 3. I understand where your worry is coming from.

As a first approach, I'd suggest making sure that your Versa 3 is no longer connected to your old mobile device as this might be preventing your Fitbit device to pair to your new phone and also to receive notifications.

With that being said, please follow the steps below in the order listed:

  • Unpair your Versa 3 from your old phone's Bluetooth and also from the new phone.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your new phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Versa 3 again.
  • Set up notifications on your Versa 3 again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Versa 3 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

Hi MarreFitbit,

Thanks for your response, I was able to add my old Versa 3 to the fitbit
application but it did remove my pixel watch 2. I did however manage to
sync the Versa and get it factory reset, after which I added the pixel
watch 2 back.
All is good.

Thanks, Shaun
