Not sure if you got an answer, but I finally figured it out: you have to change the message settings to allow message previews on your phone. Previously, my phone's (Galaxy S9+) setting only said "New Message" and did not show the name/message preview. Once I changed that to "show preview" in my messaging/notifications settings, it shows up just fine on my watch, contact name and text. Hope this helps!

@Buttas If you aren't seeing the content of the message the problem is likely that you need to go into the settings for your phone and set the Notifications to "Show On Lock Screen" for your texting app and any other message apps you like to use. Give that a try and let us know what happens.

For a samsung s8+ If you want to read the messages on the versa but not your lock screen i did this by going to my settings, notifications, messages. Make sure this is on to allow notifications. For both general and new notifications i went in and turned it on, went to on lock screen and chose hide content. Then i went to more settings in app and turned on show messages on lock screen and in pop ups. Now the lock screen and pop ups show i have a message but says content hidden. But on my versa i can read the message.

You need the help of the SMS manager software. With it, you can directly read you messages on computer by using your keyboards via a simple USB cable.

@Lpickett50 Did you read through this thread and try the fixes posted? If you are getting notification that you have a new message but can't read the content of the message, then you need to go into the Settings on your phone and set Notifications to appear on your Lock Screen. If you are getting no notification at all, then your problem is something else. You have not provided much information to go on.
