My  versa lite would not sync and date and time is wrong. When trying to fix I deleted app from my phone thinking I could just install again and make it right.  Now I cannot find an app to install. ones I found require free trial then I gather a monthly or yearly fee. Another connected to a health site I just want original app it worked great

There is no Fitbit app with a free trial.  There are several apps that look somewhat like Fitbit but are not the real app.  The true Fitibit app prominently features the Fitbit logo.

Here is what I suspect happened to you.  Fitbit has increased the minimum phone version required for the Fitbit app. The current requirements are Android 10 or higher, Apple iOS 14 or higher, though Fitbit does not go out of their way to make these requirements easy to find.  If you had a lower version, you were able to continue, although perhaps missing some features.  But once you deleted your app, you are not able to download the app again because your phone does not meet the required version.

I realize this is not publicized, but noone should ever delete their Fitbit app without first making sure their phone meets the required version to download the app again.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Yes I know I should not have deleted it but I could not get it to sync so the date and time were always wrong and I foolishly read somewhere try unistalling and reinstalling. I guess its just a ornament until I can afford an better phone. But at 69 years of age this one suits me just fine. I do miss the step, and heart rate feature.
Oh well
Thanks for the help
