I bought my son a versa lite (same watch i have) for Christmas. He doesn't have a phone. I am trying to set his watch up. I am about to lose my mind. I tried to set up without an account, but couldn't. I tried to add his watch to my account, but I can't because it's the same device as mine. I created a google account for him and tried to add his account to my app. That's just cycling through the same two pages and not allowing me to do anything helpful. Please help me! This is maddening.

Hi there, @BillZane. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that you're still having issues trying to set up your son's Versa Lite. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!
To better assist you, may I know if your son is under 13? If he is, that would be the reason why you cannot set up the Versa Lite. Your son must be 13 or older to use a Versa Lite.
If he is older than 13, I'd recommend checking if your mobile device meets the requirements to properly operate with your Fitbit device. For more information, see Fitbit Compatible Devices.
Also, please follow all troubleshooting steps provided in this help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

@BillZane Hi. As long as it's not an age issue, you have to log out of your account on the app, and log in with his account to set it up. Fitbits only store data for 5-7 days, so you'd have to log in to his account and sync once or twice a week or his data will be wiped. When you sync, the data is stored on the server. It also would be behind in firmware which won't update unless it's left logged in and syncing for a few days.
