I can't add my Versa 3 as a new device on the fitbit app because the OS has to be 7+ and mine is 7 on my LG phone. Is it possible to update OS 7 to a later version or do I need to purchase a new phone?
Thanks

Hi @Dorndl you can check with the phone service provider to see if your phone will receive an update on the operating system, but it's doubtful. Phones get old and it seems they can't be updated but for so long, just like computers have certain requirements needed to run the latest operating system. My Samsung 8 phone was updated to Android 9, but it's also over five years old. The current Android OS is 12 and was released six months ago. I doubt my phone will get updated, so I'm going to need to look for another phone, too.

Hi, It would appear that now fitbit is owned by google they are up to their old tricks introducing new immature versions of android for user to test/develop and withdrawing earlier versions that are mature and fully developed.
In english 7+ means version 7 and above but clearly that is not the case as fitbit no longer support V7.
Google only support versions of android for about 3 years so versions 9 and lower are now unsupported and I suspect support for V10 will soon be withdrawn.
It Fitbit adopt the same policy support will last little longer than the 2 year european warranty, so expect to throw away your watch and phone every 3 years. Tell that to the users of the1 billion smartphone that are apparently running android 7 or earlier!
