Can't unlock my Fitbit Versa 3 with my phone?!

I’m having trouble with my Fitbit Versa 3. The watch keeps displaying "Unlock with your phone", and when I try to unlock it through my phone, I get an "Error" message.

I have already tried the following steps:

Removed the watch from my Fitbit account

Restarted both phone and watch

Turned Bluetooth off and on

Uninstalled and reinstalled the Fitbit app

Attempted a factory reset

None of these steps have worked.

It seems like the watch may still be locked due to a previous Fitbit Pay setup or security feature.

Could you please help me unlock the device or reset it so I can set it up again?

Kind regards

Hello @SThe, thanks a lot for joining the Fitbit Community!

I really appreciate the time you've invested describing the steps you've already taken.

I can definitely understand why you've done those steps. Unfortunately, unpairing the device from the account is not as recommendable as you probably think.

The device cannot connect with your phone once it gets locked and unpaired. This time, a manual factory reset will be needed. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Press and hold the device's button until the screen turns off, then begins to flash.
  2. When the screen begins to flash, release the button and immediately press and hold the button again.
  3. Wait for the Fitbit logo to appear. Once the logo disappears and the screen begins to flash again, release the button, then press and hold the button again.
  4. When the Fitbit logo appears, release the button, then wait for the watch to complete the factory reset.

Once you have done that, try setting up your device once again.

Hi again

I have tried that around 10 times without any luck.

Any other suggestions? 🙂

Hi @SThe, thanks for coming back!

Let's try making sure that you remove the device from your phone's Bluetooth connection. Also, try restarting the device and make sure there isn't any pending update for the Fitbit app.

Please note that these are just steps to exhaust any possible way to solve this, but actually, if your watch isn't pairing after the factory reset, there isn't much more we can do 🙁.

If that doesn't work either, please feel free to contact our support team by filling this form out.
