Can't unlock my Versa 3 with my phone

Hello

i bought a Versa 3 second hand as and upgrade from the discontinued ionic and the seller set up a pin code which he can’t remember. I can’t install the watch on my fitbit account without a pin….or can I? Each time I try I get a screen with numbers and spaces to enter the code. Please can you let me know if there is a way of over riding the pin. I have switched it off and on, turned blue tooth on and off and but the screen goes back to pin entry or the time.

Without the pin the watch won’t install in my fit bit app.

@Abbieart Please note the message "Data not cleared, Sync & Try again" usually appears when you performed a factory reset without first unpairing your watch from your phone's Bluetooth settings.

With that being said, please try the following steps to solve the issue:

  • Unpair your Versa 3 from your phone's Bluetooth.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Set up your Versa 3 again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa 3.

If you can't get started with your Versa 3, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

Hi there, @Abbieart. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 3 before reaching out.

Since the Versa 3 is no longer paired to the previous owner, I suggest to perform a factory reset by following these steps:

  1. Don’t plug the Fitbit device into the charging cable.
  2. Press and hold the button for about 8 seconds until the screen turns off.
  3. After the screen turns off, you’ll feel a short vibration:
    1. When you feel the vibration, release the button and immediately press and hold the button again.
    2. Wait until the blue logo appears, then disappears:
      1. Immediately release the button and then immediately press and hold it .again, until you feel a vibration.
      2. After you feel the vibration, release the button.
        • This vibration indicates you started the factory reset.
        • After the Fitbit logo appears, the Fitbit device shows the image with the phone icon and setup indicator.
