Can't unlock my Versa 3 with my phone

Hi!

My fitbit kept getting tapped while I was doing some boxing training abs asked me to unlock via fitbit app, I tried doing this through the change passcode but wouldn't work as the phone wasn't syncing to the fitbit. 

I uninstalled and reinstalled the fitbit app and started the process again, the phone wants to sync with the fitbit but as the fitbit is still asking to be unlocked through the app I am unable to do this at the watch isn't synced to the phone anymore. 

Any ideas on how to get past this?

Hi there, @MickKai. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 3 is still locked. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

In addition to the steps you've done, may I know if you already tried to restart your Versa 3 and phone to make it sync again. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device? 

By "the watch isn't synced to the phone anymore" you mean that your Versa 3 is no longer connected to your Fitbit app and phone's Bluetooth settings?

Tried restarting it, doesn't fix it, can't sync to the phone as it's still locked and won't unlock until I unlock it from the phone app which I can't do as it won't sync to the phone

@MickKai Thanks for the details provided. 

Since your Versa 3 is no longer connected to your phone, I'd recommend performing a factory reset. Important: Take into consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account and your applications, alarms, etc. 

With the above being said, please sync your Versa 3 and then, proceed with the steps below in the order listed: 

  1. Don’t plug the Fitbit device into the charging cable. 
  2. Press and hold the button for about 8 seconds until the screen turns off. 
  3. After the screen turns off, you’ll feel a short vibration:
    1. When you feel the vibration, release the button and immediately press and hold the button again.
    2. Wait until the blue logo appears, then disappears:
      1. Immediately release the button and then immediately press and hold it .again, until you feel a vibration.
      2. After you feel the vibration, release the button. 
        • This vibration indicates you started the factory reset. 
        • After the Fitbit logo appears, the Fitbit device shows the image with the phone icon and setup indicator.

Hi - I have similar issue . My Last phone broke and I couldn’t sync with new phone. The watch is locked and requesting to be unlocked using a phone. I have tried the factory reset instructions above many times and it doesn’t work. I still get the unlock with watch message

how else can this be resolved please ?
