Hey everyone

 

Recently I bought an old Fitbit Versa off a Friends brother, and after charging it I found that it is still linked to his phone and cannot be unlocked. After reaching out to him about the problem he has told me that the gmail he used on the app has been deactivated and cannot remember the password.

 

Is it possible to unlock it in anyway, any advice would be greatly appreciated 🙂

Hi there, @Jaquin. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa before reaching out. 

Since you're unable to unlock your watch using your brother's friend phone, please follow the next steps to perform a factory reset on your device:

  1. On the device, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds. 
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive). 
  3. When the device vibrates, release all buttons. 
  4. Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup.
  5. When the device successfully resets, please use the normal out of the box process of updating the firmware. You can check: How do I update my Fitbit device? for more details.

Hi Marre

Its been a few days and I've still havent been entirely successful yet. There were times when after letting go of the bottom right button that the logo would stay gone for an extended period of time, but still no vibrations. If you would have any more suggestions for a different couse of action that would be awesome, if not the I will continue trying the buttons.
