Have been notified that there is an update available for my Versa 2 but unable to download it - just keeps spinning.

Hi @Rocky0cpa - you're in luck, if your watch is working well, then there is no need to install it.
Unless you know there is something in the update that fixes a problem you have, you can ignore it.
If you look in the forums there are reports of problems in some cases.

Don’t install the update! I did and now most of the features don’t work. I’ve tried to resolve the issue with Fitbit with no luck. I now have an expensive watch and a pedometer. 😡🤬
