Can't use Quick Replies on my Versa 3 after switching phones

Ever since I got a new phone (revvl+ 5G) I can't answer texts from my versa 3. At the bottom of the message there used to be buttons for voice response, quick response or emojis. Now I can barely even open the message. I tap on the message. I get choices that say open or clear. I hit open to read and hopefully respond to the message but then it just goes right back to the watch face. 🤦🏼‍:female_sign:

@KenzieD77 Please note that this is an expected behavior. When I press open message on my watch, only that message closes, as it should. I pick up the phone, unlock the screen, the message is the next thing I see. If you press open, you are telling the Versa 3 to open the notification on the phone. If you aren't near the phone, don't press open.

As a friendly reminder, please know that for text messages, name or number of the sender and the message appear. If there is a longer notifications, tap the notification to see the full message. Note that if you clear a notification from your device, the notification is removed from your phone's notification center. If you clear a notification from your phone, the notification is removed from your device.

Notifications tips:

  • To delete 1 notification, tap the notification > Clear.
  • To delete all notifications at once, swipe to the top of your notifications and tap Clear All.
  • For longer notifications, tap the notification to see the full message.
  • To exit the notifications screen, press the back button or swipe up.
  • If you clear a notification from your device, the notification is removed from your phone's notification center. If you clear a notification from your phone, the notification is removed from your device.

Hi @KenzieD77  -  it may be that the watch is not fully setup on the new phone. Make sure On-Wrist calls is working which uses a different Bluetooth entry [Versa 3 controls] to Notifications [Versa 3] and may be needed for voice responses.

Hi there, @KenzieD77. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with Quick Replies.

It seems that your Versa 3 cannot connect properly to your new phone since you haven't yet forgotten the connection between your watch and the old phone's Bluetooth which would explain the connectivity issues you're running into. With that said, try the steps below:

  • Unpair your Versa 3 from your old phone's Bluetooth and also from the new phone.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your new phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Versa 3 again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa 3.

Hope that helps.

I did everything you suggested. When I get the text message on my Fitbit I hit open to read it. Instead of letting me read it, it opens the text message app on my phone. It won't let me look at the message on my watch. It also doesn't give me any of the options at the bottom to respond.

@KenzieD77  - you can only read the notification on your watch, in order to read the full messag it opens in the app on your phone.

It is the same behaviour on your phone, a notification is not the fiull message.
