You can. The press release says:

"Fitbit Versa 3 has even more smart features to add convenience to your day, including a built-in speaker and microphone to take quick phone calls, send calls to voicemail and adjust call volume - all from the wrist."

Note that it works like a bluetooth headset. So your phone must be nearby and connected to the Charge 3 by bluetooth.

I assume so. I've not seen anything in the documentation released so far that suggests you can't and current Fitbit models allow you to connect bluetooth headphones to listen to music.

That's what the add said except bought one and you can not . I also talked to tech support and they said no you can't take calls on any fibit

I wish this was true. It's not . There is no feature and I contacted them and they told me you can't take calls on any Fitbit .

At least one of the new watches (not sure if both) has the hardware capabilities ie mic and speakers. however like a lot of features with these 2 watches the functionality is due to activated in a later software update. its really annoying that fitbit has advertised a lot of these features but none available at launch

I contacted them too and we are unable to do it. I didn't understand why it was advertised that you could which was the whole reason I upgraded. I didn't ask them if it would be updated to be able to do so later. Do you know if this feature will be available at some point? I'm ready to send my back.

I’ve been using the Versa 3 for the past week and can confirm that I’m able to answer calls (when paired with an iPhone running iOS14) and have successfully paired and used my AirPod Pros with the Versa, which I’ve used with music loaded via the Deezer app.

I believe everyone is referring to taking calls on the watch alone via watch speaker.  This feature was listed in documentation as "coming soon" along with Google Assistant, though I can't find it now.  I sure hope this wasn't a bait and switch.  \

Just got my versa 3 today, disappointed that we cant talk through the phone speaker at this stage.  Bit of a con to advertise this prematurely

Probably just Android as Apple do not let 3rd party devices receive calls or send messages.

Will I be able to take calls on a iPhone? I’m wanting to buy the Versa 3 and give my Apple Watch to my son but not unless it has this feature.

Doubt it with an iPhone as Apple don't allow 3rd party devices the same level of access as their own watch.

I only bought it because the guy in Harvey Norman said i could take and make calls... HOW LONG IS THIS UPDATE LIKELY TO BE AVAILABLE? please please tell me before i go to the store and complain
