Cannot use Alexa to start an exercise on Versa 2

I have Alexa set up on my Versa 2 and the Fitbit skill is enabled in the Alexa app.  Syncing device is a Samsung Galaxy S8.  Fitbit app is running in the background on the phone.  All software is up to date.

When trying these examples as given in the Alexa FAQ:

• Ask Fitbit to start a run.
• Start a bike ride with Fitbit.
• Or any other combination of asking Fitbit to start an exercise.

I get the following error:  Sorry, you can only perform this action on a Fitbit device that supports Alexa.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the detailed information shared and the troubleshooting tried. It's pretty weird that you're unable to start an activity with the Alexa app and you've set the skill on your Amazon app. 

In this case, I would like you to restart your Versa 2 and log out from your app. After this, you will need to set up Alexa again, please do it by following the tips mentioned in these articles: How do I use Alexa on my Fitbit Versa 2? and How do I set up the Fitbit Skill for Alexa? 

If after this, you're still receiving an error please provide me with an image of the error you're receiving.

It's pretty weird that your Versa 2 is still showing this. I've shared your post with our Support team and they will continue assisting you through email.

"Start exercise" or "Start Walk Exercise" an  ALEXA simply cannot understand.

"Sorry. Music and radio playback are not supported on thus device."

Is there better language

I appreciate the different ways you've tried to tell Alexa to start an exercise. In order to do this, you need to set up the Fitbit skill for Alexa, find more information in this article. These commands are currently available in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Japanese.
