Changed units not showing on Fitbit

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a new VersaLite fit bit and have paired it with my iPad mini and my iPhone 11 Pro. I changed the units from calories to kilojoules, and they show up on both the iPad and the iPhone, but not on my fit bit.

I have turned the fit bit on and off again and I have refreshed both the iPad and the iPhone. Any help?

Hi @Sydgreco. Welcome to the forums! I'm sorry for the delayed response.

Thanks for sharing that you have a Versa Lite and for the steps that you've tried. You did a good job and let's work together to update the units to Kilojoules. Since you mentioned to have two iOS devices, I'd recommend to turn off the Bluetooth in your iPad mini just for this process. Then, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure your watch and the Fitbit app are updated to the latest version.
  2. Force quit the Fitbit app on your iPhone.
  3. Reboot your phone and restart your watch one more time.
  4. Open the Fitbit app, tap on your profile icon > Advanced Settings > Units
  5. Under "Energy" choose Kilojoules.
  6. Tap on Today tab from the Fitbit app and sync your watch.

Once that is done, on your watch swipe up and check your data. If the issue persists, please take a picture of what is displayed on the Fitbit app and your watch so I can take a look into this. For instructions to attach a picture, check this post.

Hi @Sydgreco. I hope you're doing well and I'm sorry for the delay.

Thanks for the screenshots provided, they're great! It's odd that the units under energy update on the Fitbit app but not on your Versa Lite. Let's try one more thing together:

  1. Remove your Versa Lite from the Bluetooth settings one more time on your iPhone.
  2. Force quit the Fitbit app on your iPhone.
  3. Open the Fitbit app and tap your profile's icon.
  4. Tap on Set Up a Device and choose your Versa Lite.
  5. Select the replace option and follow the onscreen instructions.

If the same keeps happening, please reply back so I can go ahead and investigate with the team.

Hi Lizzy,
I force quit the app, and went to set up device and replaced it, but nothing has changed.
Still kJ on the summary page, but on the today page it SAYS kJ, but the numbers are not consistent with kJ. On the Fitbit the numbers are not consistent either.
Can you help me?

Hi @Sydgreco. Thanks for getting back and I'm sorry for the delayed response.

I appreciate your efforts while trying the steps suggested in my previous post. I'm sorry that your Fitbit app and Versa Lite aren't updating your energy to Kilojoules correctly. I've gone ahead and shared your details to our team so they can further investigate this situation. In the meantime, please make sure to keep your watch and the Fitbit app up-to-date so the rest of your information can sync correctly.

Hi there, so has this now been changed to allow kj display on the fitbit device? My understanding from the app settings and my long standing feature request is that we can change the unit display in the app *only* but calories will still display on the fitbit itself. This wording is reflected in the versa device settings in the app - main goal

Please confirm for me if this has changed (or not) as I too would like to see kj on the fitbit device as well as the app/Web dashboards. Reading this post I think this is what this user is struggling with.

I have a versa
