Wondering why these devices can’t be linked to the same account? Will this ever be a possibility, quite frustrating when you want to keep your devices new.

I totally agree with you! I dont know if it will ever be possible as Fitbit havent said. I suggest you go and vote for THIS Feature Suggestion (I have!)
