Charge 3 screen swiping and battery draining issues

I'm having two issues with my Versa 2 Fitbit.  The screen will not swipe.  I have followed the suggested fixes by holding down the left button and restarting.  This fixes it for a short time, then I continue to have to hold it down to restart to swipe.  Second I have everything turned off--alerts, removed apps, etc (followed all the directions in the support article.  Battery lasts 12-14 hours!  This just started a few days ago.

Hi @Schuberg, welcome to our Fitbit Community. I'm sorry to hear about the screen swiping and battery draining issues that your Versa 2 has experienced. I totally understand how you feel about this and I appreciate the time spent trying to get this issue resolved before contacting our forums.

I'd like you to try a factory reset. To do so on your device, follow the steps below:

  1. Hold the back button for about 8 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears:
  • Release the button briefly (for less than 2 seconds).
  • Hold the button again until they feel a second, longer vibration, which indicates they initiated the factory reset.

After this, try the tips that are listed in this help article. This article contains tips that you already tried but you can skip them and proceed with the rest.

Finally, monitor your watch and see if the issues get fixed.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

I have followed these instructions.  Now I have a message "Data not cleared, sync and try again".   Syncing is taking a while.  What now????
