Connect a second Versa to my phone

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have bought a second hand Versa to use for swimming, because I am very careful with the Versa I normally wear. I will only use the second Versa for swimming, but want to track so it has to be connected to my phone. Can I switch to this second Versa, and switch back to the one I wear daily again? Is there a way? I really hope I did not buy it in vain...

Unfortunately, from Can I use more than one Fitbit device with the same account?

Note that you can't connect multiple devices that use the Fitbit App Gallery to one account. For Fitbit Charge 3, Fitbit Ionic, Fitbit Inspire series, and Fitbit Versa series, only connect one of these devices to your account at a time.

There is one way around this, though it involves extra work; up to you if it is worth it.

You would have to remove and add devices each time you switch.

i.e. Make sure you sync current tracker before removing it; then add other tracker as a replacement and go through the setup procedure again each time.

How much trouble that is depends on how quickly you can get the new one set up, which varies quite a bit.  One tip would be to move one tracker further away when adding new one so bluetooth doesn't get confused.

Oh, that is a shame. But as it will only be once in a while, I can go for the workaround, as long as I do not loose all data from the first one. But it will not combine data from both devices then? Because that is what I need... Is there another Fitbit device I can achieve this with? Have the Versa and another device (for tracking swimming) on one account and to combine the data?

The method I described above will combine the data, as long as you complete a sync before switching out a tracker and use the same account for both.  The sync moves all the data to the main Fitibt database under your account.  If you then add the other tracker to the same account, they will get combined.

@JohnnyRow , this works fine, thanks for helping me. Do you perhaps know if it works the same if combining a Versa and a Versa 2? I assume it does, but to be sure? My 'first' Versa went broke, I am considering to replace it by a Versa 2...

Hello @piabiedtop, I answer you in place of @JohnnyRow : yes, the method describe works regardless the type of device you are going to sync.
