Anyone else have a problem connecting GPS with versa to phone/fitbit app?
Im so disappointed with the versa performance tonight. I did a first run with it tonight in a group and it's WELL OFF!!!
Map tracking is off by about 3km pace is way way way off! I actually had to use the fitbit app to track my run as the Versa just would NOT connect to gps on my phone yet i had no problem connecting at home before I set off to meet up with the group.
I'm absolutely gutted it hasnt tracked my run properly!
Everything else has been working, just about an working better today until tonight!
In the past before I up graded to the versa I had no problems with tracking on either the app or my tracker.
So don't even go down the path of my phone is not compatible!

@SunsetRunner Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well! Sorry to hear that your distance is incorrect when using the Connected GPS feature. Which phone are you using? Is it actually listed as compatible? Remember that tall buildings, trees and cloudy weather could affect your phone's GPS signal. It is better if you allow your phone to get a good signal when using Connected GPS and turn off WiFi so it only uses mobile data. You can also try restarting your phone before starting this activity.
Let me know how it goes!

Hi thanks for getting back to me. My phone has never had any problem with tracking through the app or using any other tracker before. As for the GPS there is no problem with that on my phone as I use it on a daily basis for traveling and finding places for work. Wi-Fi wasn't the cause either as I was outside and not connected to it. And there was no built up area it was an open space. The compatibility of my phone is not or was not an issue either as everything was working yesterday and connecting via Bluetooth. Bluetooth has been dropping out lately since the last update and I have to keep restarting, uninstalling, disconnecting, reinstalling and recoonecting everything again. I have done all of the usuall fixes and notbing has worked. Like I said in my original post it connected when I was at home. But would not connect when I was out!
My phone is a Samsung A5 2017 edition. I have been using it with my charge 2 and blaze with no problem and I have no problem with connecting it to my new versa either, at first! But that all changed with the updates.

Hi. I'm having the same problem. I regularly walk the same route around my work's campus at lunchtime. This records fine on the Fitbit app on my Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and therefore was great with my old Charge HR. When I try to record a walk on my Versa it generally records the start location but then only picks up random points on the journey (and some that aren't on the journey at all!) I've tried your suggestions and there's no improvement.
Any more ideas of how to resolve this?

I had the same issue with my Versa which started about 2 or 3 updates ago. I use the Pixel XL 2 and I always use Bluetooth headphones when I'm out running. Wether I start it manually or allow the Versa to auto detect the run it will connect at first but will disconnect about 2 minutes later and get stuck on "connecting". This makes the Versa think I've only run 5-6 miles when in fact I've run 8 miles. I have now found a solution, at least for my phone and it's simple. I did install and setup Strava to access my Versa and I don't know if that had anything to do with it it not. What I think actually fixed the Versa "connecting" issue is that I went into my Bluetooth app settings and cleared it's cache and data. After that I went into the Fitbit app and accessed the Versa through there and it was paired to my phone again. I've now gone on 2 runs and I've had no "connecting" issue and it correctly detects my run distance.

No problem, I myself had been looking for a solution for the past 4-6 weeks. I'm pretty sure the only thing that needs to be done is to clear all the Bluetooth app data and then have the Fitbit app pair the Versa to the phone again simply by manually syncing. The Versa now shows up as a connected Bluetooth device .

My Versa won't connect to the biking app and I'm at the ocean with no tall buildings, no trees, just plenty of clear space. It won't connect here and it won't connect at home. I've chatted with a Fitbit agent who walked me thru a few steps and the issue still exists.
