Wi-Fi won't work on Versa when the battery is 25% or less.
See page 22 and 69. https://staticcs.fitbit.com/content/assets/help/manuals/manual_versa_en_US.pdf

Why do you mean it won't do anything?
If you have the Versa above 25% battery and connected to the cable and then go to the Wi-Fi setup, what do you see?
If you don't see the network or if it constantly fails to connect, then there's a chance that's not compatible. Ionic doesn't work with 5GHz networks and the only security types it admits are WEP, WPA-Personal and WPA2-Personal.

Does it work with 802.11ac networks?
It shouldn't. As far as I understand, 802.11ac is only shown on 5.0 GHz networks. But the Versa's frequency range is only 2.4 to 2.4835 GHz.

I'm having the same issue. Tried to connect to 3 different 2.4ghz networks with WPA2 personal security settings. Other devices connect just fine. Tried rebooting the watch and phone the watch is connected to. Didn't help. Battery is charged well over 25%. Looking for any more suggestions.

So I bought the Versa yesterday. Got home and spent about 4 hours trying to get it to work, couldn’t get past the “can’t find Wi Fi”. Was doing the setup on an IPad Pro. Today, reviewing what options I had, which included calling the help desk and to returning the versa from where I purchased it. Gave it one last try and used my Samsung phone to set up. Great news, got it to recognized Wi Fi and the set up took about 45min. Hope this helps.

I encounter the same issue when setting up WIFI. I didnt had any luck connecting it to my home wifi router.
What I did was to enable the phone that i used by turning on hotspot wifi within the phone.
Then I let the watch find that hotspot and connect to it.
By doing that, the wifi connects immediately. Update was fast.
I hope that helps.

That's the dumbest thing ever! It should work off the wi-fi in the house, not the phone. But I'm so glad you found a solution to this "outdated" new technology. I've been trying for the past four days to get my Versa to connect and was blaming AT&T for this mess. Thank you for posting a solution!

Tried the mobile hotspot idea, connected briefly, even had an IP address! and then within 5 seconds it dropped. So wfifi on my Versa failed on both my home network and mobile hotspot. Please note that it worked for two weeks previously on my home network. Also note that my wife's new Versa is also having the same problem, after having worked for a little while. Now neither can maintain wifi.

When I received Versa it connected right away to work Wifi. I was even able to connect to my WiFi at home. Today however, it cannot find ANY Networks new or saved as I sit here in my office. Suggestions?

I used my hotspot on my phone also, but my versa only stays connected for 5-10sec.

WiFi on Versa will only stay connected if it is doing something that requires WiFi activity. It doesn't stay connected to WiFi. As long as it connects at all, you *should* be good from this point forward (unless there is a different issue at play).
As for people that are having trouble connecting to WiFi at all, as others have mentioned, Versa will only connect to a 2.4Ghz network. Versa does not connect to 5Ghz networks.
Also, just in case you aren't the person in your home that administers your network settings, please check with the person who takes care of this and see if they have MAC address filtering set up on your router. If they do, you won't connect until they enter the MAC address for your Versa.
