I have been trying for an hour to get my versa to connect to my WiFi. It just won’t do it. Everything else is connected. Help! I’m so frustrated

I can't load the clock faces or the app store, and the weather info on my wife's Versa will not update... So on occasions where we'd expect the wi-fi to wake up, it does not.

I am the administrator of our home network and I am an IT professional. The watches worked fine for over a week (For a while I changed clock faces several times a day). They worked on my NetGear WAP, which only supports 2.4 GHz,and MAC filtering is not the issue.

Important note: When we set up wi-fi with the phone app, it appears fine for a moment... however, coming back to check the wi-fi settings a few minutes later will show the "It's Wi-Fi time." intro screen as if the watch has never been set up on wi-fi .  Nothing that requires wi-fi will work. I have re-set up wi-fi numerous times, and used both my home network and the hotspot on my phone, and I have tried this both with and without the watch on the charger, though the watch has been nearly full-charge the whole time.

We should consider the possibility that something is wrong with the Versa firmware or phone app, that we users cannot solve. We need FitBit engineers.

OK. I can see that fit bit is aware of the problem and working on it.

Agreed. I'm guessing we'll see them push something out in the next day or so.

I agree. I have the same problem with loading new clock faces and it's just stupid that it only supports 2.4Ghz ( I had to add this to my WiFi router just for this). Hopefully someone from Fitbit team will respond to this issue.

Anyone have any clue if they're working on the connectivity issue in general?  Or just some small part of it?

I only have a phone hotspot at home, no separate wifi, and with all of these connectivity issues I have almost zero hope that once I get my Versa I'll even be able to use it.  I bought the Aria 2 yesterday and haven't been able to get it set up since it won't recognize my phone hotspot.

Fingers crossed they're fixing the bigger picture and not just some small part of the issue.

They have posted in a bright pink banner at the top of this conversation
the following:

We are working to resolve an issue affecting device functionality,
including syncing, setup/firmware updates, and downloading apps/clock faces
from the App Gallery. Thank you for your patience while we work to get this
resolved quickly!

@Mothrasue do you not see the message from FitBit at the top of this thread? It's in bright pink and says:

Of course I saw that.  It's a pretty vague statement.  I'm asking if they are working on the issue as a whole -- meaning, will we be able to set up and sync on ANY internet connection (any kind of wifi, hotspot, etc.)?  Or are they just fixing it so the limited connections they were supporting before work once again.  Of course phone type is another issue, that's not what I'm asking about.  if you have a supported phone, will you be able to set up and sync with any kind of internet connection.

Technical problem, technical solution.

In your router settings the QoS (quality of services) should be turned off. You should also give your watch a fixed IP address. For this you need to find the MAC address in the settings menu in your watch. You have to fill this in in your router settings. Very technical, but it works. I think Fitbit should release a firmware update to overcome these problems.

Actually, I tried to to do that with the MAC address, but it still didn't
work. I ended up creating a guest account and it connected for a few days,
but now it'll only connect when I have my mobile hotspot on. Ironically, my
fitbit Aria scale has not had any connectivity issues, and I've had it for
a good three years.

Have you turned off QoS?

I've searched the the advanced configurations and don't see this option
anywhere for my device.

When I first got the versa, I was able to connect using my phone. But when I tried to download music, I had to use a desktop version and it wasn't connecting to the WiFi. After over 5 hours of reading through blogs I finally got it to work.

1) Unpaired from Android Phone(even turned off the phone)

2) Installed Desktop Version

3) Set up the Device from Desktop version again (Removed my prev Fitbit Alta profile as well)

4) Used Wifi connection (2.4Hz WPA2 Personal verison of my router)

5) While i did this I placed my laptop very close to the Wi-Fi Router.

6) after the device install beautifully, i moved music over and synced

7) was able to Pair my headphones as well

I hope they make it a lot easier to pair these device. it definately is not fun. and not a great way to spend my long weekend.

I gave up. I returned the first Versa I purchased and tried it again and
with a new Versa and still was unable to set up the watch with my phone.
Very disappointed, especially after paying $200 you would think it would be
easier. I was on the phone with customer service multiple times and no
success.

I had the same issue, Versa would not connect to my home WiFi which was 2.4ghz, tried factory reset, showed password when trying to connect to make sure we were typing it in right, etc.

Ultimately, I had to setup a WiFi hotspot via another phone and was then able to get the Versa to connect to that WiFi hotspot to download the latest update.

Seems like the Versa has a compatibility issue with WiFi networks, or maybe it didn't like the length of my WiFi network at home because the only changes were a different WiFi network and the length of my WiFi network name was shortened when I setup my mobile hotspot.

Any luck? I just received my Versa today and it will not connect. I should've read these strings before I purchased what seems to be crap thus far.
