I am trying to adjust my settings on the Sky hub to reflect that Fitbit can only connect to 2.4ghz but whatever I try dosen’t seem to make any difference. Does anyone else use Sky broadband and know what u should select/deselect?

@namtrab wrote:WiFi on Versa will only stay connected if it is doing something that requires WiFi activity. It doesn't stay connected to WiFi. As long as it connects at all, you *should* be good from this point forward (unless there is a different issue at play).
As for people that are having trouble connecting to WiFi at all, as others have mentioned, Versa will only connect to a 2.4Ghz network. Versa does not connect to 5Ghz networks.
Also, just in case you aren't the person in your home that administers your network settings, please check with the person who takes care of this and see if they have MAC address filtering set up on your router. If they do, you won't connect until they enter the MAC address for your Versa.

I am a senior network engineer with 30 year's of experience with high-level networking and I hold multiple Cisco certifications. I cannot get this stupid Versa to connect to any of my wireless networks except for my phone's hot spot! This is ridiculous. I knew there was a reason I was avoiding this purchase.

I was able to finally get a WPA2 SSID on an older Cisco controller at my work to connect with my Versa. My newer Unifi access points at home running a cloudkey controller with multiple SSIDs of various security levels will not work with my versa even though they work with my Fitbit Gen 1 and Gen 2 scales, my eight Nest Protect smoke detectors, my Ecobee thermostat, and many other devices.

Personal hotspot worked. Thank you for posting this, because my next step was to carefully place my Versa in the driveway and then run it over with my car ten times.

This has been a CONTINUOUS problem for me since I got the Versa. This happens with both my iPad and iPhone. Either I can't connect to Bluetooth or if I can, it won't sync. I have to delete and reload the app (which is NOT in the app store for my iPad so I have to reload from fitbit) and then hope it will work. Yeah, it's ONLY $200 but I am also getting $200 of frustration.

I figured out why I had issues connecting my Fitbit Aria and Aria 2 scales and my Versa to my wifi...
My Versa watch and my Aria 2 scale could not connect to my home Unifi (Ubiquity) wifi. I found that Fitbit (unlike Nest, Ecobee, and many others) requires broadcast/multicast to be turned on within the SSID. If you turn this off (which it should be off to clean up/speed up your wifi), you will see a connection with one-way traffic (TX/up with no RX/down). Once I turned on the feature to allow broadcasts/multicasts for the SSID, both devices work fine.
It is unfortunate that Fitbit continues to use features in their devices that cripple our wifi connections. READ HERE if you want to know how Fitbit is slowing down your wifi: https://help.ubnt.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001529267
The Aria 2 image below shows 0 down traffic when broadcast/multicast traffic is turned off. It shows two-way traffic when it is turned on. It was the same for the Versa watch.

Try these steps:
1. On you PC, Go to Wi-Fi Properties
2. Click on Configure...
3. Click on Advanced tab
4. Look for something like Wireless Mode and change the mode to 11b/g
When you are done you can turn on your Ethernet back on or set your Wi-Fi back to 11a/b/g/h/ac to maximize you speed.

Try your steps for what? Why on the PC? If you read my post, I have already found the solution. Fitbit has some requirement for broadcast/multicast packets. Feel free to ask any technical questions about this solution as I have nearly 30-years of experience with fortune 500 and security clearance accessed government networks.

I was having a similar problem, would not setup/connect to wifi from the Android app, when I selected to setup wifi it just hung....no error, gave it 20-30 min multiple times, uninstalled/reinstalled etc wouldn't work.
But I installed the Versa/fitbit Windows 10 desktop app on my laptop, went to the same wifi settings in the Windows app and it worked fine, and the Versa has stayed connected to my wifi since...transferring music etc works well now.

This is day 4 of having my versa and I've experienced all the same issues. I finally was able to get my versa to transfer music etc. after days of frustration. What I ended up doing was using my phone mobile hotspot(or you can use a friends) to connect my computer to my phone...and then my versa to the phone via the hotspot wifi. Once the phone recognized both devices I was able to use the desktop app to transfer music. It took way less time and I wasn't trying to re-invent the wheel to get this to connect. Just as a heads up you only get so much space on your versa so originally when I tried to transfer music it told me I already had 50% of my space used. Before attempting the transfer a 2nd time I went in and removed some of the default apps(that I would never use) and freed up some space.
this may be helpful instead of struggling with why it will and won't connect. If you can get the devices for transfer to connect to your phone you're in business. This is my first fitbit purchase and while the product in itself is fine the information and support given is not. Would have made better sense to include an ACTUAL instruction manual in the packaging that gives some basic direction to users. Instead most of use are reviewing online tutorials and forums for help. Hope this helps someone!

I just had to update my router for the wifi to be able to connect to my watch. If it wasn't for the issues I was having connecting, I wouldn't have known to update my router, so I guess win-win lol
