I have been trying for an hour to get my versa to connect to my WiFi. It just won’t do it. Everything else is connected. Help! I’m so frustrated

I've had problems, and ended up getting help from tech support. Not that
I'm thrilled by certain issues, I still find that the Versa does what I
actually need it for. It tracks my motion, my walking, and my pulse. It
gives me a view of my sleep, though that needs improvement. It even lets
me use my watch to view notifications - meaning that during a meeting I
feel, then look at the watch to see a notification without having to touch
my phone - less intrusive. I do have one big issue - I want the pulse
oximeter to work - that would be of immense benefit to me both for cardiac
monitoring plus sleep analysis. Doo keep in mind that fitness and smart
watches are still pretty new, and no where near as mature as other
technologies. But they are rapidly improving.

I think we'd all like software improvement for Fitbit. And for Versa,
Fitbit needs to figure out how to let us get full use out of it without
killing our phone's by heat and battery drain, but for the moment, I have
enough use of mine that I'll survive with very limited synching.

Just curious, what type of router do you have, and what band are you trying
to connect your Versa on? You do know that it won't work on a 5GHZ
network? And if I remember properly, it won't work on networks that
'connect' but then prompt you to login, as opposed to routers where you
need to know the ssid and password (these work)?

Not sure if you were addressing this to me or the above poster.

Myself, I run an Asus RT-AC3100.  It's a pretty high end router that broadcasts both 2.4 and 5 ghz.  I am a gamer so I'm fairly tech savvy and this router has been absolutely flawless in it's ability to connect reliably to any of my families devices and never has port forwarding issues etc.

When I was having problems connecting to the Versa, it would actually see my 2.4 network and allow me to enter the password.  But once it tried to connect, it would just show the saved network but say it's out of range.  I am 100% sure it was not a problem on my end.  Not a justified problem anyway, but a problem being caused from the software end on the Fit-bit in my opinion.

Even though one cannot expect machines to run perfectly all the time, I think it is incumbent on makers of these kinds of tech equipment to engineer them to work and connect with ease and simplicity.  I guess that is always easier said than done...

An obvious question - how far away from the router were you, what was
between you and the router, and was anyone operating a microwave or an
older cordless phone on the 2.4 ghz band? Problem with 2.4 is that there
is 1. a lot of interference, and 2. lots of people in any neighborhood
using it.

I had the same issue but it turned out that I was trying to connect to a 5 GHz network. As far as I've read, it does not work with networks that require profiles, subscriptions, or logins.

Perhaps you're also trying to use it while the battery life is low. Someone else mentioned that this causes issues with the WiFi as well as per Fitbit's documentation for the Versa.

Other issues that I can think of all have to do with the WiFi network that you're trying to connect to and not the Fitbit itself. Can you give any details on the network?

Try not using special characters in your WiFi password. That was the problem I was having.

Are you using special characters in your WiFi password? Try changing that. I was having the same problem as you and the special character in the password was the problem.

Do not use special characters on your WiFi. That worked for me.

Try changing your network password to not include special characters. Worked for me.
