Counting incorrect steps and not showing correct calories

Second time trying to post this.

I got my Versa Lite about a week before the update and it was doing fine. After the update, it started counting steps when I wasn't doing anything, including when I'm sleeping or when it's charging. It's also showing the wrong calories, the number keeps going up even when I haven't logged anything for the day.

I've tried resetting both the watch and my Note 9 with no luck.

Calories always are increasing.  Those are your BMR (basal metabolic rate) calories that you are always burning just by being alive.  They are credited even when not wearing the tracker.

See How does my Fitbit device calculate calories burned?

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Ah okay, so that is just linked to the problem with it counting extra steps. The number is way higher than I'd seen it before, which is why I noticed it and why I saw that the number kept increasing.
