Dead versa 2 just over a year old

My versa 2 is 14 months old and it ran out of battery last week while on holiday. I had my charger so plugged it in to charge. Left it for a few hours but when I went back it hadn't charged at all. I put it down to a broken charger so when I got home I ordered a new charger which has arrived today. Have plugged in but still not charging so now can only assume its the actual versa that's broken not the charger. Have done all recommended fixes that I've read about but nothing... surely the lifespan of a versa is more than 14 months?!?!

Hello @KF4

The lifespan varies depending on which article you stumble across on the internet. My Versa 2 is 3 years old this month so I don’t think there’s any real way to tell.

You mentioned you tried different fixes that you read about on the community here. I’m assuming you try restarting your Versa 2. If you haven’t I’d suggest doing that for sure: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186.htm

Sometimes dirt/oils get on the charger pins and on the Versa 2 contacts making it difficult or impossible to charge. Look closely at your charger pins. Are they bent in any way? I’d suggest giving your charger and Versa 2 contacts a good cleaning to see if that might help. Look here on how to clean both your charger and Versa 2: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2005.htm

🤞 I’m hoping that it was just the charger and Fitbit needed a bit of TLC Cleaning. Let me know

I am going through similar experience. Talked to support. They escalated to the warranty department yesterday and they were supposedly going to send me a follow up email yesterday.  They must be busy as I am still waiting.  Recommend you contact them too. I an deeply disappointed as I have always had fitbit the versa w year lifespan is worrisome.  Someone else shared Similar yesterday on this forum.  Same experience. Hope the support team can help.

Hello @AN43

I hate to hear that your Fitbit needed to be replaced. I’m sure the warranty department will send out an email to you soon. If they don’t I’d certainly call them again and follow up with your inquiry. It certainly doesn’t hurt to stay on top of it.

😉 I hope it gets sorted out soon

Hello again @KF4

I’m sorry cleaning the Versa 2 contacts and the charger didn’t fix the issue. I see you have purchased a new one. I love my Versa 2 so I’d be gutted if it died on me.

😃 I hope your new Fitbit arrives quickly and you can get up and running again soon.

Hi AN43, FYI I had a live chat, explained the problem and sent a photo and they have agreed to send me a replacement!
