Dealing with mosquito spray?

Hello everyone! I have a Versa 3 and though I have done my best not to spray mosquito repellent on my Fitbit, the under surface shows a bit of "fogging". I can probably polish that out, but here in southeast Texas, we pretty much have to use repellent to keep these little monsters off. And since one of my greatest sources of exercise is working outside in the yard, I don't want to take my Fitbit off.

So my question is: has anyone discovered a good way to wear a Fitbit while using skeeter spray?

I would probably take 30 seconds to take the watch off, then spray. Perhaps wipe the top of my wrist where the watch goes, so it's not oily under the sensors, and put the watch back on?

Hello @oldbeast825 and welcome to the Help forum.  I can't find anything that specifically mentions mosquito spray.  This article in the Fitbit Blog gives advice about sunscreen.  It is up to you to decide if that advice should include mosquito spray.  Fitbit also has specific dos and don'ts with respect to cleaning your Fitbit.  They are here -- Fitbit Wear & Care.

I had something similar happen a few years back with a Charge 2 or 3 -- I got some sunscreen on it, and it "fogged up" the display, so I had to call for a replacement. It was still under warranty, so they happily replaced it. If you're going to be outside a lot, you could try a cheap screen protector that sits over the Versa 3; maybe something like this:

Inexpensive & easy to put on and take off, and they don't add much size/weight to the device.

Thankfully, I didn't spray the display. I thought better of doing so and removed the fitbit, sprayed up, and put it back on. I was able to "polish" up the bottom and remove the "fogging", but so far the best I can come up with is to use a bandage on my wrist under the fitbit to keep the skeeters off that part of my wrist while wearing it outside.

Well, what I came up with was to use a large bandaid to protect my wrist under the fitbit. Tried putting it around my ankle under my sock but that doesn't work very well as the band isn't big enough. With the wet summer we're having, the mosquitos are bad this year.

I have the same thing. How did you polish up the bottom? Thank you.

Hello @Lwressell and welcome to the Community.  Fitbit recommends using rubbing alcohol and a soft toothbrush to clean the charging contacts.  I use alcohol on a damp, not wet cotton pad to clean daily grime off the underside of my Fitbit.  My previous post has a link to Fitbit's Wear and Care page.
