Device and exercise app readings don't match

Hi, i recently started using the Versa 2 and have noticed that when using the exercise app on my iphone the data recorded doesn't match with the reading on my device. Namely, distance and average pace differ considerably. Additionally both sources of data show up as separate entries in the exercise app. Any ideas on how to fix these issues?

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing your concern regarding the difference in readings you see on your Fitbit Versa 2 and the exercise app. Thank you providing the additional details. I would like to confirm what exercise app are you using on your iPhone? What activity are you doing and if you're using the Exercise app on your Versa 2 or let the device to track your activity automatically? I will be glad to investigate further.

I am using the Fitbit app on my iPhone. The differences in distance between the app and the tracker on my Versa device occur independent of the method (i.e., auto detection or manual). Remains an issue.

Thank you for your reply, @drjmac

I am sorry to hear the issue persists, thank you for providing the additional details. I would like to confirm if after syncing your Versa you see the same distance on the app and on your watch? Do you have any third party app connected to your Fitbit account?

Please keep me posted.

When you refer to the 'exercise app' on your iPhone, are you referring to the Fitbit app or to Apple's Health app?  It seems like you are referring to the Health app since you mentioned two sources of data.  Your iPhone will track your steps as well as your Fitbit device.  If you're using the Health app for overall tracking, you will have to turn off one of those sources to make it accurate.  Otherwise, when you are walking with both devices, they will both be counting your steps.  That could be the reason your data on your phone doesn't match what is on your Fitbit device.  If your Fitbit app data doesn't match your device, then that is an issue they should resolve.

I’m having the exact same problem with my Sense. The two readings are different and I don’t know which is more accurate. It’s very frustrating.
