Device is dying after one day of use

So when I bought my Fitbit I could use it for about 2-3 days and then charge. But now I’m lucky if it lasts a full day?!

All software is up to date and the device is used properly and is well looked after.

Could this be a fault?

It could be that the battery is becoming defective but it could also be a power hungry app or clockface. Have you changed either of these recently?

Not really, I use it exactly as I always have. It’s just been the last week or so. I’ve only had it since June

The usual advice when something strange seems to be happening with a fitbit is to restart it by:

  1. Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
  2. Let go of the buttons.
  3. If your Fitbit Blaze, Fitbit Ionic, or Fitbit Versa doesn't work normally, use the instructions in How do I turn off my Fitbit device? to turn your watch off and on again.

I'm not that hopeful that this will help but it's worth trying, it's safe, and only takes a minute.

If the problem continues then it may well be defective and I would contact customer support via: contact.fitbit.com They may be able to see what's going on from the server side and if they can't fix it then they can advise on your warranty options.

The product is obviously faulty and now mine too doesn’t last a day so is useless as a watch. I am waiting for Fitbit reply by email to my refund request.

They have a 45 day money back guarantee. I hope you fall within that period

@ChrisEW just to set expectations, fitbit's warranty terms only offer a replacement option and not a refund unless you bought it direct from fitbit within the last 45 days.

Hi Steve. I am aware of that. How convenient then that a a battery problem which doesn’t come to light for 60 days, falls outside the warrant period.

Warranty for defects is a year pal. You’ll get a replacement. Which is what I’m hoping I’ll get. Just want one that works because I love it.

Im glad you love yours. I am hugely dissapointed. I’m travelling away from home and won’t get my new Fitbit for nearly two months if they send a new one.

Guys,

If you have auto sync on, try turning it off and see if that helps with increasing your battery life.

When I turned mine on, I was only getting 2-3 days of charge. Turned it off and I’m getting 5-6 days.

Thanks for the advice. Yes I’ve tried that and also a factory reset which I was helped through by customer service. The battery still dies after about 13 hours. Ive gone back to an analogue watch as it no longer works as a watch.
