Difference between active calories vs resting

I have just recently switched from an apple smartwatch to the fitbit versa. I am finding that the calorie count is very high. By 1pm today I had already lost nearly 2000 calories my watch said. I know the fitbit calculate your resting calories as well but was just wondering if the was a way to tell your resting calories and active ones apart?

Except for viewing calories burned during a tracked exercise in the Exercise tile of the app you can't separate calories burned from generally moving around from calories burned from sitting still.

I've found the calories burned for the day to be a bit high for me as well.  I look at my BMR (from several online calculators) and calories burned from exercising and "eat" from there.  I've read several posts where individuals say that their weight loss over time matches what Fitbit as calculated as their calorie deficit.  Maybe give it a chance over time?

Thanks you will give it a go and see how it goes. A lot of hassle it just seems you have to go through to figure it all out should be a much easier way through the app or watch to work it all out
