Disable heart rate zone vibration notification

This is new after doing a firmware update last week. While exercising I keep getting heart Zone notifications during exercise in the form of a buzz on my wrist. I find the constant vibration as I move between different HR zones during exercising distracting and annoying. How do I turn off the notifications on the device?

Accepted Solutions

On wrist, after select exercise type; tap gear icon at top right, then scroll down to 'Zone Notifications' and tap to toggle off.

Perfect thank you. Fitbit did not make finding that particular setting very intuitive.

Thank you for this! I had spoke to a Fitbit customer service rep who had no idea how to solve the issue

Thank you. I can't tell you how f'ing annoying that vibration is. My watch needs to be seen not heard.

Amazing if there is no master menu to simply turn off zone notifications.  Am I wrong and there is?

Except they are specific to exercise type, whereas a master menu would imply on or off for all.

That's a good point. Some might want it on or off for different activities. I don't like it. 😂

But what does it take, 5 seconds to  toggle off?

But I do admit most people seem to have no idea that setting is there, and many do find the vibrations bothersome, especially without even realizing what they are for.

I have an old Versa 1. The heart rate goes blank at times. buzz. Comes back. Buzz. Today in walk mode it buzzed a couple times in just one block. Finally turned it off in walk mode. When this first started, buzzed about 5 times in a mile and a half on the bike. Nothing but annoyance for me. Hope it works out for some people.

Weird... have to turn off for all exercise types. Sometimes you just wander what these people have in mind when they design these stuff. Do they actually use the watch?

Did that. Didn’t work. Vibrates every 10 seconds and I’m about to smash this thing

Hmm… my Zone Notification is gray and won’t allow me to toggle off. Any suggestions?

Don't entirely agree...I think the zone notification is potentially cool and useful once you know about it and how to control it...just would have been helpful to know about it first, or at least not have the lap notifications automatically switched off.

@Karlfus Know how to control it? Have you tried it? I've turned it off now on the Versa 1, Versa2, and Versa 3. The watches heart rates jump around too much for it to be anything but annoying. For example, it's safe to say that during a 20 mile bike ride yesterday, it would have buzzed 40 times, even though my effort didn't change much. The Versa1, which was actually my favorite Fitbit so far, would buzz a couple times just walking one block.

Yes, it could be cool if heart rate performance was more consistent. That hasn't been my finding with 7 different Fitbits since the feature came out.

When I scroll down to "Zone Notifications," I can see the toggle off button but I am not able to select it.  It is dark (not highlighted) like the other options are.  Thanks

Hiya - I have just worked out that it is the heart rate zones.  In the Fitbit app - click into the heart rate area - click settings and then Heart Rate Zones - if you set custom rates zones it will not vibrate during any selected exercise (I set my upper limit to 200 and lower to 44 - ranges I knew I would never go to lol) - just been on treadmill for an hour and only vibrated to say I'd achieved my 10k step goal

I tried this on the Sense 2, but the exercise began before I could toggle off! I even took the watch off and set it on the table so there was no perceived motion. No luck. Amy advice?
