Display on gesture not working (Display stays OFF when I raise my arm)

Hi,

is there any way to adjust the sensitivity of the automatic display control?

I have the issue that the display stays OFF very often when i raise my arm to look after a notification or just look up the time.

It is quite frustrating to always look at a black screen and have to use the second hand to touch any button on the watch in order to switch the display on.

—> definetely room for improvement here!

And it would be nice if the display wakes up automatically when a notification arrives.

—> next point on the Fitbit todo-list for future software updates.

Has anyone found a better solution to these problems?

Hold the back button and swipe the screen to the right and make sure the Screen Wake is set to auto.

Obviously make sure the Quick View is set to on and if it is, try this;

Hold the back button and swipe the screen to the right and make sure Screen Wake option is set to auto.

It was on Auto. What I did, though to make it more sensitive was to change the watch face. Previously I used the Fitbit watch face that allowed me to use a picture from my camera roll.....  after switching it to a more generic face, it works better.

My versa was working fine for the first 30 days, then today the gesture display stopped working.  This is unacceptable.  Why have a watch if you can't read it?  This will be an especially bad problem during my interval running.  With all the complaints I can't believe fitbit has been so slow to address it.

The back button is the single button on the left hand side and is one of the first things that you should know about when owning a fitbit Versa...... Have you had a look at the instructions yet?

I would recommend that you have a look at the instructions before taking it back as they might help you understand how the Versa works, like which button does what (re your other post about which the back button was)

Thank you!  I don't even know how mine got turned off, but it stopped displaying automatically about 2 weeks ago.

Did you get yours to work?  "Hold the back button and swipe the screen to the right and make sure Screen Wake option is set to auto."

Somehow mine was also turned off.  I'm glad I read a lot further down in the messages.....

Thank you.  That worked.  Why didn't MrEngineer know that?

So, I had the same issue, and couldn't get the display to turn on with a wrist movement.  So, with this trick, I managed to get the display to turn on. Press and hold the left button on the ionic until it vibrates and you'll see the "Screen Wake" . Click on the 'Screen Wake' and set it to "Auto" . This worked for me and now the display is shown when I move my wrist.  I hope this works for you : )

Thank you for the tip!  Held the back button down and swiped to the left and changes the screen wake to auto, works fine now. 😊

If you press for 2-3 seconds on the left side button on the watch you will have the option to leave the screen awake for when you look at it and to leave notifications on

I have the screen wake set to auto - and it is still hit or miss whether the screen comes on.  It was the same for my Fitbit Charge 2... its not great if you have to make such a deliberate move for the watch face to come on.
