Do I have to press a button after using my Versa in the water?

Do you have to press  a button on the outside of the watch after being in the water with the watch on to remove any water which has entered the water in a any holes. As the apple ones you have to press a button and then it exits all the water.

That is a good question! After I swim my heart rate monitor goes nuts. Usually if I shut it down for about 10 minutes it works fine again.

A warm welcome to the Forums @Emily19 and @MothersHands thanks for stopping by.

Regarding your inquiry, I recommend drying the watch after swimming with it.

  • Be sure your skin is dry before you put your band back on.
  • Even though Fitbit Flex 2, Ionic and Versa are water resistant up to 50 meters, it’s important to thoroughly dry your elastomer band and tracker and remove any debris from your device after wear in the water to avoid skin irritation. Please note that non-elastomer accessories should not be worn in water.
  • To minimize damage to your tracker or watch, avoid any direct contact of sunscreen or insect repellant sprays with your tracker or watch. Remove your tracker while applying these sprays.

I hope this helps, see you around. Smiley Very Happy

I don’t have any skin irritation at all and I only wear the band that came with my versa. After I swim I have to take off my versa, dry it, shut it down and put it on the charger. If I don’t I get crazy heart rate results like yesterday I only dried my versa and wrist put it back on and after that it gave me 458 minutes of activity time, my peak heart rate was like 3 or 4 hours which couldn’t be further from the truth!! While I was singing my son to sleep I looked at my versa and it said my heart rate was 178 lol so I took it off and put it on the charger over night and today it seems to be working so far. We’ll see how it goes when I do my workout.

The Heart Rate doesn't really work in the water.  It will stay on if you swim and the swimming is auto-recognized.   If you track your swim with the Swim Exercise, then Heart Rate will turn off for the swim.

I do track my swims through the swim exercise on my watch. I realize the heart rate monitor goes off while swimming. It’s after I’m done swimming and have dried my watch and wrist that my heart rate monitor goes crazy. And, it acts crazy until I put it on the charger no matter what % of battery is available.

Now today my versa is completely dead. I’m so upset! I’m going to call customer service but from what I have read on here the customer service lacks in all areas...

I want to first apologize to @Emily19 for taking over this post, I am sorry.

Secondly, I called customer service and they emailed me a postage paid label to send back my Versa and as soon as they receive it they will send me a NEW Versa!!! I’m so happy and the customer service person I spoke with was more than happy to help me and very professional. If you’re having a similar problem or any problem they are really great and there to help.
