Hi all,
If I want to track my run for Strava do I have to take my phone with me when I run for the GPS to work?
Thanks

Yes you do. The Versa does not have GPS.

That's really rather frustrating and disappointing. My partner bought me the Versa based solely on its ability to upload to Strava as I did not want to continue carrying my phone whilst running (I've broken a few). I've spent the last 3 weeks trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong and finally found this thread. I'm a bit gutted to be honest.

You are so right this is frustrating and the fact that 1st race icon is actually there on Versa is mislea
ding. I don't understand why would the icon be there if you cannot use it because if you have a phone and you have downloaded 1st race then you actually don't need Versa bt now you must take the 2 devices. This is disappointing really. I also don't run with my phone.

Just with this topic about using fitbit with Strava. This was very confusing and not well explained initially that I needed to carry my phone. I'll explain, I was going running without my phone and finding out that my runs were not being tracked. It wasn't made clear to me that I in fact I needed my phone to document the runs. Initially I was excited to hear and surprised to know that I could connect my fitbit to strava. But the catch was it would not track without phone. I spent ages trying to figure out why my fitbit wasn't connecting to strava and on the various instructions about how both connect with each other nothing was mentioned about needing the phone. So I am greatly disappointed and it is such a shame. I have no real need for the fitbit now.
