I tried to make a claim under warranty as my Fitbit stopped working and was purchased direct from Fitbit less than 2 years ago but was shocked to be advised that it was out of warranty after 1 year as we live outside the EEA - they referred me to the following terms LIMITED PRODUCT WARRANTY FOR NEW PRODUCTS
Fitbit warrants to the original purchaser that your Fitbit-branded device and accessories that are new (the "New Product(s)") shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase, except that if you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA) and you purchased your Fitbit product in the EEA, the warranty period is two (2) years from the date of purchase (the "New Product Warranty Period"). They’ve offered me 35% discount off a new model but I find this woefully inadequate since there was a 2 year warranty in place when I purchased it.

They don’t like you to know your rights, go down to 105 at the link, you have depending on where in the uk you live 5 to 6 years to return a faulty item, their company policy cannot override your laws.

What you’ve wrote there isn’t exactly correct, it’s only if the company has breached its contract. Yea there are certain rights and expectations by law and laws business must follow that many don’t keep to, it’s good to know your rights but also know the laws in your country

If there was a b2 year warranty in place when you purchased it then I would fight that because you bought the item on the premises of a 2 year warranty a change of leaving the eu at a period in time after the fact and I’m assuming you weren’t notified prior that when the uk exits the eu you’ll be subject to a warranty change from a product bought before such a time? When you do things like that it’s always good to get something in writing from a company tho that way if such a time comes and such a thing is said you have written proof you have something different from a company rep. It also looks as tho this wasn’t changed upon there warrenty on there website until mid 2020, so it should apply to products bought after this
