Do Versa exercise shortcuts contribute to badges?

Hi there,

When I had an Alta HR any exercise that I manually added to my daily exercise (for example teadmill) did not end up contributing toward steps and mileage to earn badges.

Is the same true if I use one of the exercise shortcuts on my new Versa? Is it similar to manually adding an exercise in the app? I don't necessarily mind not using them, but I wanted to try this feature out.

Thanks!

Hello @MountainMiler and a warm welcome.  Congratulations on the purchase of your new Versa.  I love mine.  I think you will love the exercise shortcuts -- you say you use a treadmill.  Treadmill is not one of the auto-recognized activities, a limitation when wearing your Alta HR.

When you use the exercise shortcuts, you will get a precise start/stop time, steps, detailed heart rate/calorie burn graphs, active minutes, and GPS maps on GPS connected activities.  I NEVER manually add an exercise.  Any exercise that doesn't nicely fit into the categories gets recorded as a "Workout".

Any manually added steps do not count towards badges.  It keeps us honest.  I never owned an Alta HR, but it should have auto-recognized your treadmill as a walk or a run.  Steps are steps.
