Does Versa 2 Have Built-in Microphone?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hello everybody,

I own a Fitbit Blaze at the moment but looking for an unexpensive Fitbit with a built-in mike.

I came across with Versa 3 but would like to try Versa 2. Does it have a microphone too?

More questions which I have.

Do all the models of Fitbit have the same tracking algorithms for all models? How about the hardware?

What is best option to get as far as the buck/quality is concerned for Fitbit other models with a microphone?

Hi there @Alexander_S, it's good to have you in the Community.

I appreciate you reach out to the Community and your questions. From our devices only Fitbit Sense, Fitbit Sense 2, Fitbit Versa 3, and Fitbit Versa 4 have built-in speaker and microphone.

Regarding the algorithm, it is different for each device. The first devices did not record the stages of sleep, those of now record that and even more such as temperature, SpO2, etc.

Please elaborate your question about hardware, all devices are unique. The hardware is different, because of the design, not all of them are the same size, shape, thickness or weight. Some have certain mechanisms such as built-in GPS, speaker, microphone, altimeter, etc.

You can check and compare our devices, here, so you can find one that suits your needs.

Hi @Alexander_S - yes the Versa 2 has a microphone, see specs and compare carefully before buying.

It is probably the most reliable and cheapest if you aren't looking for special features.

The most recent watches are missing some of the features found on the predecessors and are more expensive too.

Thanks for the response.

Do you still sell Versa 2 or there's only an option of buying used Versa 2?

Thanks for the clues.

I guess I'll go for Versa 2.

I don't see them at FitBit stores. Where can I buy Versa 2?

If you have or had Versa 2, can you say they are reliable and correct about tracking features? My Blaze sometimes is not quite correct about measuring steps. Sometimes it is, though.

@Alexander_S  - a new Versa 2 is still in the shops and available online,

What are you intending to use the microphone for? Check that the function you want it for is available.

@Alexander_S- the Versa 2 is a pretty good watch, you shouldn't have charging problems, heart rate problems or poor vibration issues that the more recent watches have. Steps is generally good but it depends on what the movements are and the frequency and settings, it should give a a reasonable result. Avoid getting them wet though for them to last.

Microphone will be used for answering telephone calls, or can't it?

@Alexander_S  - No option for that on a Versa 2 - If that's a requirement you will need a Versa 3, but the charging and vibration isn't as good. Best you go online and do some research to see what meets your needs.

Then I guess I will have to look for something else but not Fitbit.

Do you know of anything good from other companies meeting my requirements?

@Alexander_S- if you are going to look elsewhere, and you value battery life, good vibrations and sounds for notifications and voice calls, a Garmin Venu 2 Plus would probably be of interest, though a bit more expense.

Why do you think they have a built-in microphone in Versa 2? To use Alexa and that's it?

Do you think they can implement the phone answering feature for Versa 2 in future firmwares?

What do you mean by "charging isn't good"? Does it take more time to charge?

@Alexander_S- it is unlikely to retrofit features found in later models as people wouldn't then buy the later models.  Very few manufacturers will do this, not to mention the cost of duplicating a development effort for free.

Have a look in the forums at the different aspects that interest you and do some research online for what you need.

What's the heck?!

Yesterday Versa 2 was 129 and today it's already 169. And they are still on sale which ends on January 15.

Or shall I buy it from Ebay (but delivered from China)?
