does any one know whether the versa 3 or sense will have the laps displayed on the watch during a swim?
The versa 2 downgraded this feature from the versa, so i returned my 'upgraded' watch in the end as lap display is key for my swimming!
Hope someone can help

While Fitbit has not yet shown anything clear on the purpose and the manuals are not available, the technical specifications state that the gyroscope (removed on Versa 2) is back so I'm confident it can show the laps.
However next week we should start to get some reviews from the web so my suggestion would be to wait few days to take the decision.

Lap counting is very important to me as well as I do most of my cardio via swimming. I'm hoping that the gyroscope means we can have lap counting. I'm going to wait for reviews before upgrading. I'm also hoping that the inductive button will make waterproofing somewhat easier. I had to return one Versa 2 because of a bad seal, but other than that and the lack of lap counting I've been happy with the watch.

As @Giampi71 mentioned we can be sure till the documentation is made public but I am trying to rattle my brain and some bells are ringing (tho I'm not sure if it's the right church) that there was no lap support yet, at least not on day one.

I agree with @Giampi71. The inclusion of the Gyroscope means that these new devices will have the required hardware (lacking in Versa 2 and some other recent devices) to track laps. Whether the software is there to support the hardware, no one really knows yet. I'm optimistic we might see lap counting though.

Does anyone know the answer to this question yet??
Very frustrated with the lack of lap counting on the Versa 2.

Thank you very much!
It's so strange that the original Versa had it, but not 2 or 3.

Agree. It is disappointing and I do not understand this concept. They claim the Versa is their Fitness-Tracker and are removing this function. 😒
After many years, they lost me as a customer.

Lab counting on my watch while swimming is the main reason I buy Fitbit products such as Sense 2. Having to see only on phone app is almost useless. Major disappointment that the so called upgrade deleted the laps showing while swimming. Will be searching for a different product if this huge mistake is not corrected quickly. unbelievable error

Thanks to the customerservice chat talk I learned how to get laps counted on my sense 2 watch. Go to exercise. Next tap swim. Finally slide up from bottom and choose 25 or 50 meters.
