I know the Fitbit Versa connects to wifi while connected to the charger. What does it do when it connects to wifi during that time? Does it check and update the firmware over the wifi? I've had my watch for about 9 months and I have not yet received a prompt in the app saying it needs to be updated like it did with my Charge 2. I imagine there has to be an update that was pushed out over the course of 9 months. My watch does have the latest firmware. I have already checked that. I'm just curious about what it is doing when it connects to wifi on its own when on the charger.

As far as I'm aware, the Versa uses wifi for three things:
It will only update the firmware when we accept a prompt to do the update so it won't update in the background.

I believe it was rolled out during December 2018. I can find posts that refer to it in the Ionic board but not the Versa board but would imagine they were done about the same time. It's certainly been so long that I can't remember updating my Versa.
