I cannot believe I have to run with my phone to track a run on Strava using the versa , I'm so disappointed . Now I'm stuck with this versa . I'm going back to my Surge ! Waste of money !!

Sometimes it helps to read the features of any thing before to buy it. Nowhere it is written that Versa has GPS.

Yes you're right.I also noticed it doesn't say it does not have:

- blood pressure sensor

- ECG sensor

- Infrared emitter for remote controlling

- ultrasonic emitter to be used as dogs whistle

- laser pointer

- lightsaber (Star Wars)

But in the specs it is written quite clearly what it does have:

Fitbit Versa Family Sensors & Components

  • 3-axis accelerometer
  • 3-axis gyroscope
  • Optical heart rate monitor
  • Altimeter (not included on Versa Lite Edition)
  • Ambient light sensor
  • Vibration motor
  • Wi-Fi antenna (802.11 b/g/n)
  • SpO2 sensor
  • NFC

"Real-Time Pace and Distance

Learn more about your runs and hikes by connecting to your phone's GPS to see pace and distance on display, plus get a map of your route in the Fitbit app."

The equivalent to your surge would be the Ionic.
