Why is this now available on only some Charge 3 and Versas?

moment but also what wakes me up is severe drooling.....my cheek, neck and
pillow would be wet now I’m not over weight I only weigh 10 stone so back

help with it.

What exactly does this chart that doesn't tell you your oxygen levels give
your doctor?

The graph appears to show variation of Blood Oxygen levels in time rather than absolute percentage of normal values. It appears to be particularly useful in detecting breathing events that occur when you are sleeping, like might occur in someone with sleep apnea. I am not sure how useful it might be for individuals with COPD or similar breathing issues because the changes might not be as obvious. Although it might be useful in measuring recovery time.

Hmmm I don’t know quite what your asking but at the min I get my sleeping
score/ sleeping breakdown and my heart rate breakdown but no graph now I do
suffer with COPD but I’ve suffered with this sleeping problem for about 3
years now and plus my GP isn’t the greatest

I see it as a tool in the tool box, that can give clues that medical follow up should be looked at.  Sleep studies are intrusive and unpleasant besides being expensive so this would give some indication whether or not one needs to proceed to that level.   It is just another way of taking control and monitoring what you can from the comfort of your own home.

Given that you have no idea what the O2 levels are, what could it possibly
mean? It's a deviation from what, exactly? It could mean you are breathing
and oxygenating better or worse.

I have to wonder why Fitbit won't let us see our O2 levels? Or this whole
mystery rollout? Lots of us also have finger clips - they could run a beta
where we provide via our phone finger clip readings a few times per day to
help Fitbit calibrate their sensors collectively - and even our own sensors.

Yeah I agree there with you, once this comes available I would like to
address my sleeping problem and have some control

At last check a few days ago on my Versa, I could get the simple sleep
analysis that they say is governed by heart rate and wrist motion. So for
a few people they've added a chart that claims to be deviation from
something related to O2 levels. It doesn't tell you, for instance, that
your O2 level dropped at times during sleep (enough of a drop while it
shows you not sleeping deeply MIGHT indicate Apnea). It just says that
your O2 level changed. It might have gone way up. No way to know.
Best Answer
O2 level would be very helpful for that. But that's not what the chart
provides.

Once you get O2 levels charted against your sleep level you will have
something, that, for instance, might suggest apnea or trouble breathing
while you sleep. But what do you expect from the chart that a few users
are sometimes getting now? It's not O2 level.

Me myself think everyone is missing the big picture, they shouldn’t be
allowed to sell these and withhold some of the information
Best Answer
Many of us are not missing anything. We're disappointed and angry that we
were sold fitness trackers with SPO2 sensors that don't work, and that now
they are sort of being turned on, part of the time for small numbers of
users, but that we are not getting any usable information from them. Like
percentages in sleep charts, a reading right on our watch faces, 24x7
charts, etc. We're not getting what we paid for.

I had the chart for almost the entire time it’s been available and it disappeared 2 days ago.  With the newest version of the fitbit app for iOS it went away.  Not sure if that’s why or not

guess I’ll get it back when they give it back.

im really not sure what the hoopla is all about, what exactly are you going to change in your life when you see your graph?

Best Answer

The graph went away for me about two days ago too. I didn't actually observe an update take place, but its possible given the timing was the same for me with my Ionic and iOS app.

Congratulations for having no anomalous events while you were sleeping. I suspect had you detected that you had a significant change in your SPO2 followed by you waking, you might suspect that you stopped breathing while you were asleep. In that case you might consider how to make changes to reduce the number of times that occurs, possibly seeking professional advice or even experimenting first.

If it indicates some sort of sleep/breathing disorder then (which that’s
what Fitbit says I might be able to do) then I would from results and my
local GP get some help with my sleeping as it’s all over the place

How do you get to put up a separate post, not just reply, like I am doing to you?  I saw you had a post above a couple and then this one? I was trying to share an article that came in my email today on the sensor and Fit bit .

Just in case, hitting reply to the last post is how this works, here is a hyperlink to the article.https://www.fiercehealthcare.com/tech/fitbit-rolls-out-blood-oxygen-tracking-eye-toward-fda-clearanc...

This is sort of GIGO - garbage in, garbage out. A meaningless graph that
has no viable interpretable data behind it will tell nothing worth
listening to for a doctor. The doc would likely feel that you're wasting
his or her time. Now if you could chart actual O2 levels against movement
and heart rate, that could be useful.
Best Answer
There's nothing in this graph that I'd expect to change anything. But for
a person with apnea, for instance, who has lost a lot of weight, it might
show a reduction in the apnea as as result.
