I am 63 year old golfer. With charge HR when heart rate went over 85, I would be in fat burning mode.
Now with new Versa 3 the heart rate for fat burning is really high like 120. I golf at a very hilly course and walking up hills sometimes huffing and puffing, but Versa 3 says nope for fat burning zone. I used to get at least 2 hours of fat burning and minutes of cardio now only get a few minutes of fat burning for 4 hours of exercise. I checked my age. I tried changing HR zones. According to Versa 3 I’m not doing anything.

On the later devices, including Versa 3 compared to Charge HR, the way of calculating heart rate zones had changed, now factoring in resting heart rate. Most people find the newer heart rate zones are harder to achieve. Along with the change in calculating zones, is the change from Active Minutes to Zone Minutes.
You can read about the new zones at How do I track heart rate with my Fitbit device? and scroll down to "What are Heart Rate Zones?".
You can see what your heart rate zones are by tapping the Zone Minutes circle near the top of your phone app. Even with the changes, I would be surprised if the bottom limit for fat burn zone is as high as 120.

Yes but yesterday I worked really hard to get up a very steep hill. The young guy we were golfing with also had to walk up this hill. We were both huffing and puffing when we got to the top. I had to breath awhile before I could continue. But Versa 3 says I didn’t get over 118 bpm so no cardio. I had to walk up the hills a lot yesterday too….not shooting well. But I thought I got some very good cardio.

Your first post, you said your fat-burning zone was 120. But this post you are complaining that 118 is not cardio.
I understand your frustration but it is really possible to explain when you just talk about how you felt.
I can't give more response without knowing your resting heart rate, and the limits of your heart rate zones as I explained them in my first post.

It looks like you wore both Versa 3 and Charge HR at same time, presumable linked to different accounts. Or 2 of your Wednesdays looked a lot alike.
Those show the zones are harder to reach with new calculations. But regardless of zones, you should get similar calories burned with each. Tale a look at calorie burn for a workout or for entire day with each. If those are much different, you might wonder if one is reading heart rate higher than the other. Could likewise look at heart rate average for a similar workout and see if they are similar.
I don't think I would like Charge HR saying I am in zones 21 hours a day.
But maybe you just have to live with it calling zones differently. The goals and recommendations for zone minutes are different too, so maybe be looking at how your own zone minutes per week now, and not compare as much to previous active minutes.
Sorry no more help.

No did not wear the same day. One was April 27 the other one was 2days ago. They were alike for times of exercise so chose them to sho you. Yes the calories are way lower because the active minutes is multiplied by 2 for cardio zones.
showing what I did 2 days ago shows I did nothing in terms of exercise. Which is way wrong. It’s just wrong.
ok well, I guess I will go back to my charge HR and return the Versa 3. It doesn’t work.
thanks for looking.

" Yes the calories are way lower because the active minutes is multiplied by 2 for cardio zones. "
Not so. Calorie burn is not affected by heart rate zones. It just looks at the heart rate, with no concern what zone it is in. It might appear that way to you because you are looking just at the 'time in zones'. If you had actually recorded workouts using the Exercise App to record a similar workout, such as a round of golf, for a similar length of time, then that workout with Charge HR and Sense would be comparable. But I get the idea you did not record workouts as such with the Charge HR, which if I remember correctly, you record just by pressing side button to start, and then to end, exercise session.
Before returning Sense, you might want to record a round of golf using the on-wrist Exercise App and look at the exercise summary you get from that workout.

No they recorded the same That is same activity. never pressed side button to start an activity. Always put in as an exercise afterward. Under exercise. Start of new day. So midnight.
See on top….under activity how you get double activity points for cardio and peak heart zones?
that’s why the graphs were so much bigger with charge HR because I had cardio zones.

I wouldn’t mind just living with it as you say and calling the zones differently but when I work out to the point of huffing and puffing , I think it’s important for a person my age to know I am getting exercise. According to versa 3….I am not.
im going to try to change clock faces….I downloaded one that watches my SpO2 levels so lll change it and see.
