Feedback about Versa 2 swim tracking

I had been so excited to get my Versa 2 specifically for the swim feature!  To only be sadly disappointed and angry about the fact that the supposed "better model" is a downgrade from the Versa 1!!!! This was not advertised and I'm returning my product.  The so called "new and improved" Versa 2 has elimited certain functionalities that the Versa 1 had.  Specifically when you turn the Swim Exercise feature on the only screen you can see is a timer, what good is that? Any person who knows anything about swimming knows that you need to see distance swam, time in set etc.

I swim 3-4 miles at a time without stopping and I would like to know how many laps I have gone without having to keep track in my head!  The design team apparently had no idea what they were doing!  My friend has the Versa 1 and while she's swimming she's able to see how many laps she's currently gone and she has the option to change her settings for the swim feature while the only thing I can change is the lap length.

Hi @minniemae1986, it's nice to see you again participating here in the Community Forums, sorry for the delayed reply.

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts and personal experience with your Versa 2, I understand your situation and how frustrating this matter can be for you. I'd like to let you know that we are always striving to improve the Fitbit experience with our products and services, therefore, the feedback that's shared here in the Community Forums is always appreciated and really helpful for us to evaluate our procedures and make sure that we are delivering what our users want and need.

I recommend you to check our feature suggestion: Swimming should show more stats (time, distance or length) Versa 2 and participate there with your comments and a vote.

Let me know if you have any additional questions, I'll be around.

I see Fitbit's platitude bot responded to you.  I tried like hell to get an answer on this, but they've gone dark.  I finally went with an Apple Watch Series 3.  I really like the simplicity of the Versa, but removing the lap counter was idiotic.  To add insult to injury, they threw some motivational affirmation into its screen slot.  I hated to go, but now that I've gotten use to the Apple, it is far superior in  how it tracks your swims, though it also tracks 1000 things I don't care about.

@robertovernoy I was able to get them to respond to me via chat but their response was not helpful at all.  They just basically confirmed that Fitbit made a stupid decision and does not care about the needs of swimmer's.  They said they're not sure if there will be an update and if there is when it may be.  It seems to be a simple fix since this was a feature on the Versa!  Simply copy over and push the update!!! I'm not what "genius" decided that swimmers only need to see a TIMER while swimming, idiotic is the nicest way to put it.  Makes not sense.  Why do swimmers need to see a timer?  There are swim clocks in the gym for that not to mention SWIM CLOCKS ARE CHEAP.  Nothing like slapping a $200 product on my wrist that's worthless to me since the sole purpose I wanted it to serve WAS TO COUNT MY LAPS FOR ME without me having to count hundreds of laps in my head while swimming for an hour or two.  Yes, I know I can go to my locker, grab my phone out, wait for the thing to sync and see it but when you're face down in the water losing track of your count YOU WANT TO SEE IT ON THE WATCH.

FIX IT FITBIT!
