Fibit Versa does not connect after removing + factory reset

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Fibit Versa was not syncing at all, after trying everything, turning Bluetooth on and off, soft reset of fitbit etc etc. I removed the fitbit from my account and did a factory rest. I now however am not able to connect my fitbit back to my phone (moto 5g plus). When I try to pair it, the app says that it has found the fitbit, but it will not connect. I also tried to connect via a macbook, but here it keeps hanging on the update your profile page. I am getting pretty frustrated and just want the fitbit to work. Anybody has a suggestion?

Hi @Inge1804, welcome to the community.

Can you go into the settings on your phone and unpair/forget the Versa from there and then restart your phone. I would also advise at this stage to ensure that any other Bluetooth device is switched off or out of range of the Versa. Then try the set up process again.

I tried to follow your suggestion and restarted my phone the unpairing I already did. When I go into the adding fitbit procedure, it is stated that the fitbit is found by it will not connect to my fitbit...it says that there is a problem with the bluetooth, I am not sure what i can do I already tried to restart the bluetooth but this does not help as my phone is still not able to connect to the fitbit.

Please be aware that removing a tracker that does not sync from the users account will always add problems, and never fix a sync issue.

If the problem is on the phones end, you'll know this if a restart and a power off of the Versa did not work,  then a factory reset will only complicate matters.

Let's see if we're can fix the phone issue with steroids that other Fitbit users have don't to work.

Restart the Fitbit

Update the Fitbit app if updates are available

Clear the phones cache.

Swipe any unneeded apps out of memory

Kill the Fitbit app through the phone settings - apps - Fitbit, swiping off the screen is not enough.  While there clear data I'd you know your Fitbit login address and password.

Restart phone, android still had memory management problems

Log into the Fitbit app and try a setup of the tracker.

If fails let's remove the Fitbit app

Check for phone updates

Restart phone

Install a fresh copy of the Fitbit app and try again.

I am having the same problem with my Fitbit Versa & my Moto G6 phone.  They have synced & worked fine together for the last 6 months until the last 3 days.  I have tried the factory reset of the Versa several times, unpairing & pairing the Fitbit to my phone again but nothing seems to work.  I know my bluetooth on my phone is working as my wireless headphones pair & work just fine with it as always.  I am beyond frustrated with the Fitbit Versa and all of its issues.  Pretty sure I am going to switch to Garmin at this point since I can't seem to get a resolution to this problem.

I talked to fitbit and they note that fibit apperently does not support Moto 5/6G phone. Their suggestion was to use the phone of an friend to set it up; I did so and I can now at least use my fitbit to a certain extend. But I can only sync via a pc, cannot add app, cannot change clock interfaces. Very dissappointed in fitbit, especially since the connection with my phone was fine from november till the start of april not sure what changed that made it not work anymore 😞

Of the phone had been syncing,  I would assume that,  even odd Fitbit has not finished testing it,  it should still work.

There have been posts that a particular phone will sync but not setup a tracker,  it would not be a bad idea to try a different phone to stop the tracker.

@jjgarr  none of the steps posted in my last post help?

Before the Beta may be setup,  we have to fix the non sync issue.  Telling Fitbit that you do not want to use a tracker will not fix a communication wire. If they are not talking to sync,  they will not talk to setup.
