Finding a Fitbit charge 3 or Versa to try on

I’ve been looking for a place to try on a charged Fitbit Versa and Charge 3 devices. I want to try them on my wrist for comfort. It isn’t the strap length I’m worried about. Neither Best Buy nor Macy’s have devices to try on. Staring at an uncharged device that I can’t explore how it works is useless to me. I have an Alta. I want to upgrade. I’m 46 and have aging eyes. If I can’t read the font size it is useless to me. I need to explore these things.  If I can try on a  $2000 watch at Macy’s I should be able to be trusted to try on a Charge 3 that works.

Hi @Hockey-mom ,

Try checking at a Costco or Sam's Club. They often have display units you can try.

I would recommend you take a good look at the Versa. The screen is bigger, brighter and clearer than the Charge 3. Much easier to view for non-youthful eyes. 🙂

I have two Costco's near me. They don't have displays were you can try on Fitbits. They do sell Versa and Charge 3's though.

Hi @Hockey-mom . I agree with @MarkMM. Consider the Versa. It is much easier on “mature” eyes. (Speaking from experience here.)

Getting back to your original questions:

  1. I suggest purchasing the Versa from Kohl’s, Costco or any other local retailer that offers a good return policy. Charge it and try it for a couple days, changing watch faces and checking out the settings. If you do not like it, return it.
  2. You mention a concern regarding the band ... and that your concern is not the length. I love my Versa but find the wide Versa band uncomfortable. So, I’ve found inexpensive narrow Versa bands on Amazon that are soft leather and very comfortable on my wrists. Amazon also has a good return policy so if you like the Versa, maybe try the narrow band?

I’m sorry it is so complicated. But it is what it is. Just take advantage of the good, retailers that have “no questions asked” return policies. I really think you will be happy with the Versa with a narrow, soft leather band. The Versa is my favorite of the Fitbit devices. And that band is kind to my arthritis.

Thank you. That’s a good idea. There is a bj’s near me. They probably have some. Easy to return too. Sorry for my tirade. I am tired of something that should be so easy complicated instead.

Thank you for your ideas. I’m wondering about the band width too. Glad to know some of the ones online are actually thinner. We have a Bj’s near me. They are really easy to return to. I’ve never thought of that. Sorry for  my tirade. This shouldn’t be so complicated. The charge 3 is probably what I really need for options, however, I might need the Versa for readability. Thank you again.

Thank you so much for your ideas!  I’m definitely going to check out the Bjs near me. That might be easy to return too.
