Hi,
Really new to fitbit, so I am trying to match the list of "exercise activities" on the fit bit to the closest match/gel with the actual real activity that I am doing.
I do aerobic; both aqua and land, work on the cross trainer and even started yoga type classes.
I was hoping someone could guide me with matching these to the listed 'exercise activities"
For instance, on my cross trainer machine, I have tried using, treadmill and running but on both of these the stats come up on my fit bit differently to the stats showing on the cross training machine.
I have been doing land aerobics and using workouts on the fit bit.
So I suppose I am wondering how accurate the stats are given that they aren't the precise same exercise and the stats coming up different when I am on the cross training machine
Thanks in advance for any advise
Jane

If you are doing an activity that doesnt have a good match on the Fitbit exercise shortcuts you should use the Workout shortcut, then after you have completed the activiry and synced to you phone go intontje app and change the name tonthe specific activity from the fitbit activity list (which is considerably more detailed than the exercise shortcut list). If there isnt a good match on the list you can create a custom activity so the parameters are a better match with what you are doing - see below. The Workout shortcut was designed for all activities not included and is the only one you can change the name to the actual activity.
ADDING A CUSTOM ACTIVITY
First you have to know how many calories you burn in your activity. You can google calorie calculators
Then go to the Fitbit website Dashboard (not the app) and tap the top of the Recent Exercise tile. A little thing will drop down on the bottom of the tile. Tap See More which is on the right side. A new page comes up. Move right to the bottom of this new page to the box titled Activities which is on the right side at the bottom. On the bottom of this box, in blue and small print it says Create Custom Activity. Tap that and a box comes up. Put in the title of the Activity and then fill in the start time and duration of you latest session, fill in the calories burnt and hit log. You have now created your custom activity. Bit of a trial, but you only have to do it that way once.

thanks - heaps -
i will endevour to navigate my way around it.
So when i have the "exercise" set as workout - the stats produced are accurate for that specific activity
Have i got that right ?
Then u jig it to a specific exercise activity from the list
If ur specific exercise is not on the list - then u add it
Cheers Jane
