Fitbit Update: 1/25/2020
Hi everyone,
We're aware of an issue with firmware updates failing for Versa Smartwatches and Ionic. For example, the firmware update process gets to 98% complete, then restarts, only to reach 98% and start again.
We assure you our teams are currently investigating the root cause and are working on a resolution.
Your patience is greatly appreciated and we'll update this thread when a fix is implemented.

We've got 2 Versas - one each for me and the wife. Setup a few eweeks ago worked fine for mine - but doing my wife's today is taking way too long. Somehow got the initial device setup done (its now sitting on version 32.3.0.14 of the software. It seems to connect tot eh wifi successfully enough, takes a while to download the firmware update, disconnects (the red X thing) and then goes into the installation screen - no progress bar - sits there for 10 minutes, and then disconnects, giving me the option to restart the entire process over bluetooth. I've restarted the device a couple of times, switched phones, and have kept my versa about half a house away so its not as likely to interfere with the process. Am kind of at wits end :P.

I bought a Versa this week and I can’t get the update to download fully and install. I have an iPhone iOS 13.3, anyone managed to get this right or should I just forget about using Fitbit?

Iim having the same problems, thought I was doing something wrong as it’s first time having one, it’s very frustrating spending so much on a watch that doesn’t work!

I'm also experiencing this problem, brand new versa which I cannot use. Tried setting up via android phone over wifi and Bluetooth no luck. Tried factory reset no luck, tried uninstalling and reinstalling via PC, no luck! Update downloads but fails to install, tried all day. So frustrating given the cost and that this is brand new!

I have the exact same issue with my brand new Fitbit. I have been trying to update it for 8 hours now. I give up. This is hopeless and I am sending it back bying a Garmen watch or Apple.

How long do we expect this issue to continue I've been working on this since yesterday and was even instructed to return the product and get a new one; so I did. Now I've spent another entire day with the same issues to finally hear you know about the problem. Should I return this product too and go with an Apple Watch?????

Update. No luck with fixing it, but I have also been dealing with fitbit support via chat. We went through all the troubleshooting steps they have and after exhausting all of them they checked my warranty status and shipped me out a new Fitbit. They were great to deal with. It's been frustrating to this point, but they are making it right. Hopefully the new one will setup super easy.
