Fit bit Versa Locked so I tried to do a new setup

I was attaching a new watch strap and accidentally locked the watch.  I followed the instructions to reset the pin and each time I put in the new PIN (or old PIN) when prompted, it didn't work.  I decided to try a new set up but now when I am directed to type in the activation code I cannot see it on my watch as it is still locked.

@hsrichardson Did you delete Versa from your Fitbit mobile app? I hope not.

No I didn’t. I have contacted fit bit help and they have advised me to do a factory reset but I can’t get it to work.

@hsrichardson Do not remove from the account. Do not factory reset. Instead do the following:

 

  1. Unpair (remove) Versa from your phone's bluetooth settings
  2. Reboot your phone. Do not pair in your phone's bluetooth settings
  3. Reboot your Versa by pressing and holding the left and bottom right buttons until Fitbit logo flashes
  4. Open Fitbit mobile app
  5. Sync
  6. Unlock with the phone.

The trick here is to not pair in phone Bluetooth settings but rather let the Fitbit mobile app do that.

Thank you. I called Fitbit support in the end and they advised me to send it back to them and they will provide a replacement.
