Fitbit App Won't Display Available Networks

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Good day,

I have been trying to get music on my Fitbit Versa Special Edition.

I am using the Windows 10 App, when I navigate to my versa and go to wifi set-up it just keeps searching for possible networks and never displays any.  My computers wifi sees it just fine and so do my other devices, it seems to be an issue with the App instead of the wifi itself.

I really want music on my versa but do not know what to do.wifi.jpg

Hello @Kat81, it is cool to see you around more often! Thanks for posting that screenshot. Let me ask you this, are you using the same Wi-fi network that you used to setup your Fitbit Versa, to download music onto it? If not, let me tell you that should be the same. If it is, then I suggest you to review the following help article: Why can't I download music and podcasts to my Fitbit watch? If after following those troubleshooting, the issue persists, I'd like you to take a look at this other article, Why won't my Fitbit watch connect to Wi-Fi?

Keep me updated!

I am having the same issue. The computer is running Windows 10 and is on the WiFi network. The Windows OS sees all the WiFi networks in my neighborhood but the FitBit app sees none of these.

Hey @P90FAN, let me give you a warm welcome to the Fitbit forums! If your Versa doesn't seem to be connecting with your Wi-Fi, I'd like you to try the troubleshooting in this help article: Why won't my Fitbit watch connect to Wi-Fi?

Give it a try and let me know how it goes!

Hi, when did you try to connect to your WiFi? Whilst setting up your Versa? If yes, that might the problem. I noticed that when you setup your Versa for the first time and got passed the four digit stage, one of the next pages asks to connect to your Wifi and had the experience that it keeps on searching but did not find it,so I skipped that and went on installing the Versa. Once it works, I went to the Wifi settings in the Fitbit app and pressed Network and it almost directly found my Wifi. The only thing I had to add manually ws the password of course, which is Capital sensitive. This worked for me very fine, never had problems with Wifi after that. This is also for POP90FAN.

I'm having the same issues.  I cannot see any Networks using the Fitbit Desktop App, and cannot pair to my Fitbit Versa using the Desktop App to add music.

Going to the "Manage Wi-fi Networks" within the Media section does not return any Wi-Fi Networks.  My Laptop is connected to a Wi-fi, My FitBit App on my iPhone can see my Wi-fi and can successfully connect.  Although I see nothing within the Desktop App.  It will not even let me manually add a Network.  I've tried adding a screen-shot, but can't seem to.

How can I get my Desktop App to connect (find) my WiFi?

I have no issues what-so-ever connecting to the App on my iPhone.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I have been through the suggested help articles,  but none of them work.

Hi, before typing an elaborate answer: do you really mean Desktop form your PC? there you will not be able to setup WiFi or whatever, cause there is no seperate Fitbit app available for computers only Internet connections.

From my Laptop.  There is a FitBit Desktop App which can be downloaded and installed from the Windows Store. Which I have done, but it doesn't connect to my WiFi.

I am looking to transfer music to my Fitbit, and apparently the only way to do it is through the Desktop App.

Yep, there is a Fitbit app in the Windows store, but it's not the same as the one on you phone. Tried it also, but never got it to work.

If you want to transfer music to your Versa, do the following:

1. Put your Versa in the charger and connect it to your laptop.

2. Go to your phone and the Fitbit app.

3. Go to Wifi setings within the Fitbit app and click it.

4. You posted that your network is present on your phone. Did you enter also the password of it? If not press the name of your network and add your password manually, mind you that it's Capital sensitive.

5. After having done that, there will be a white icon on the right side of your network's name, click that and Fitbit will start connecting to your Network. Once established, the icon turns to blue with the message "connected"

6. Since your Versa is in the charger and connected to your laptop, at this moment the Versa is also connected to WiFi. Mind though, that the Versa will only be and stay connected to your WiFi as long it's connected to your laptop as the Versa by itself does not have Wifi, but uses either your phone of your Laptop as a bridge to connect to your Network.

7. Now you're able to transfer music to your Versa.

what I personally also do in these cases is connect my phone also to my laptop as I set it up that whilst connected to PC, the screen will always be on, so you're able to see/sure that the Wifi connection is activated all the time untill you disconnect your Versa from your laptop. when you do that, the Versa looses the WiFi connection in no time at all.

Hope this helps and good luck (works for me all the time).

Thanks for the reply kuzibri.

But, that doesn't seem to work for me.

Steps 1 - 5 are fine, and I have the WiFi set successfully on the app on my phone but don't see any way to transfer the music to my FitBit.

My phone is active and appears to be showing my wifi as being selected.

Looking at Media on the app and selecting "Personal Music" tells me to use the desktop application to perform the transfer.

I managed to transfer music using the desktop app, after much playing around.

I had to switch off the Bluetooth on my iPhone, and connect my Versa to my laptop Bluetooth.  Which then let me transfer the music to my Versa using the desktop app.

Mine wouldn't find any networks if it wasn't charged above 25%. After charging it did. Hope it works out for you!

Hi Jefffriedt,

Thanks for your comment.  I still can't find any networks from the desktop app, although fitibit is 100% charged.

But switching my iPhones Bluetooth off allowed the Fitbit to pair with my laptops Bluetooth and let me transfer music.

Sunset Runner, I hope you or anyone else might be able to help me.

I moved recently and when I did, my fitbit had to be reset because it went through times of no wifi and a different time zone. I went to re-sync and it didn't work. I then have followed every suggestion even erasing everything on the Versa, restarting it, deleting/reloading the app, etc.

The problem is, my fitbit app isn't even giving me a link for wifi settings. I can't get it to even reload. The versa is in its cradle, fully charged, bluetooth connected to my phone (Android), and everytime, I get to "Before we get started", I hit 'Next', and it says to charge my Versa, which it is and in its cradle.I hit 'Next" and it continues to tell me to try again, and showws me how to put the fitibt into its cradle. I can't get past this.

Nothing is working. I thought at first, it was because I had 5G wifi in the house, but I also have open WEP, and I switched to that on my phone, but on the app, I still can't get to anything about wifi settings much less get my fitbit connected period.

Any ideas? I'm about to go back to the Charge...

Thank you!

Thanks for your feedback. I had the same issue with my Iconic and your solution, switching off the cell phone's Bluetooth, worked.

The problem is with your windows I’ve had a Versa for nearly 3 years and it’s been the same story. By the way, it works just fine on my phone. You need to stop with all your nonsense platitudes to people and fix this problem. It has gone on long enough.

Why on earth does it need to be the same network. Won’t go into all the reasons that could change.  Aka got as gift and set up and a different location than home etc. I am away traveling and can’t update the firmware

I have the same issue with my Ionic.  I have turned off the bluetooth to the phone, i have connected the ionic to the chager that was connected to my desktop, etc, and still the desk top fitbit app does not show any wifi networks for me to connect to.

I have tried these and more:
