Fitbit App is draining my mobile phone battery

Hi

I have a Fitbit Versa and a LG G6 phone (Android 9).

Recently my phone battery started to drain at a rapid pace.  More annoying is the fact that the phone started to slow down (slow response). I also noticed that Google Play Services consumes a considerable amount of power.

I tried to find the source of the problem and then I found out that limiting the Google services location services helps to reduce the consumption as well as restore the phones response dramatically.

However, after a few days, I entered the Fitbit App and saw that there was no sync to the watch.  The message was that it required the location service to be turned on.  Once I turned on the location service (for Fitbit only) - battery drains, phone slows down etc.

I don't understand what is the connection between location service (used for GPS etc - which I was not using) and watch phone sync.  Any idea?

Please help as this is pretty annoying situation

One more thing, I tried to contact Fitbit directly and turns out I need to report through Twitter.  Not sure why I need to open a Twitter account to report an issue (or in other words:  Not all the world uses Twitter, surprise, surprise).

Hope Fitbit people read this and respond

Since I had an LG G6 with a Versa I am going to take a stab and say it is not the Fitbit app that is draining your battery. I would download a battery monitoring app so that you can see what is really draining your battery. There are plenty of free ones in the Play Store.

Hello
Thanks but, yes it is.
Again the draining is by Google play services, triggered by Fitbit App (the draining stopped when I turned off the location service of Fitbit App in Google services)

Right now it is consumed :25%

Next is whatsapp with :7%
